At the Cannes Film Market, Hong Kong studio Media Asia managed to conclude a significant number of deals related to the sale of a whole line of their upcoming films.
The licensing rights for the action movie “Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen” were sold to Well Go USA (North America), Splendid (Germany and Benelux), United King (Israel), Horizon Film Int'l (Turkey) and Galaxy Studio (Vietnam). A little earlier, the film was purchased by TF1 for France and Metrodome for the UK. Deals have also been struck with Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia and China.
Media Asia showed an 11-minute clip from the film in Cannes, consisting of action scenes. The premiere date was moved forward a week. It is now scheduled for September 23, 2010.
