Donnie Yen in "Ip Man 5", the new project of Adkins and Sarora, Jackie Chan in "The Karate Kid"

At the film market held as part of the International Cannes Film Festival, to the surprise of fans of action cinema, several projects were presented, the most high-profile of which was "Ip Man 5".

Information about this was provided by representatives of the film company Mandarin Motion Pictures, and, judging by some reports, he may direct the fifth part of the franchise himself Donnie Yen, who played the legendary master. It is not clear how the authors will extricate themselves from the history of their own films, in the last of which Master Yip died of cancer.

Besides the next "Ip Man" a sequel to the urban action film was announced "Hot spot" (2007) - the readers of our site were definitely waiting for the second part of Ian’s hit film. Moreover, on social networks the British screen fighter Scott Adkins expressed a great desire to take part in this project.

But this was not enough, since another action film with Donny in the title role was announced there. Film `s name "Misjudgment" (Misjudgement) and produces it Wilson Yip , as, in fact, the two above-mentioned films.

There are absolutely no details about these films yet, but it is worth saying that the projects presented at the Cannes film market are only on paper and it is there that producers are looking for sponsors for subsequent filming. It seems, Scott Adkins (Undisputed franchise) and Marko Zaror (“Agent Mandrill”, “Invulnerable”) will play together again. Project called "Devil" (Diablo) will be the fourth collaboration between the two hand-to-hand action stars.

The film is directed by a Chilean Ernesto Diaz Espinosa, who is known specifically for his work with Saror in the title role (“Chained Dog”, “Mirage Man”, “Agent Mandrill”, “Savior” and “Fist of the Condor”).

The upcoming film follows Chris Chaney (Adkins), who, after being released from prison, embarks on a dangerous mission to fulfill an old promise, but finds himself in danger when he kidnaps Eliza, the daughter of a powerful gangster. Her father, Vincent, calls on the entire underworld to bring her back alive. El Corvo (Zaror), a psychopathic killer, joins the hunt not for money, but because of his own revenge on Vincent's family.

Currently, the project is at the pre-production stage and can only be expected next year.

A strange rumor recently began to circulate on specialized resources: Jackie Chan returns to the role of Master Han in the new "The Karate Kids"!

However, upon closer examination of this news, it becomes clear that, firstly, we are not talking about a direct sequel to the 2010 film with Jaden Smith, but about a complete restart of the franchise "Karate Kid" (1984-1992), about which we already wrote. Secondly, it is not mentioned anywhere that Chan's character will play the main role.

There are rumors that the franchises may cross over and who is attached to the project Ralph Macchio will be in the same frame with Jackie Chan. However, it was also said that the main characters of the now popular series "Cobra Kai" should not be involved in the restart. In addition, the project still does not have a screenwriter or director.
