A monument to Bruce Lee was temporarily dismantled in the United States.

The first bronze monument Bruce Lee, approximately 2m 32cm tall, installed in Central Plaza in Los Angeles' Chinatown, was removed and placed in storage. Its future depends on whether it will be possible to raise $150 to install it permanently.

Larry Jiong, president of Chinatown Corp.: Now it's just a monument [weighing 723 kg]. Someone could easily steal it. We want to make it an integral part of Chinatown.

Chinatown Corp., a Los Angeles-based business group that manages real estate in the Central Plaza area, has joined forces with Bruce Lee Foundation in order to raise funds to pour a concrete foundation, which will make it impossible to move the monument.

The plans also include seating, reconstruction of the alleys around the monument and an underground drainage system. Some of the money should go towards insurance and maintenance over the coming years.

I really don’t understand how you can trust the creation of such statues/monuments to people who, in both cases, didn’t bother to do Bruce properly. After all, he doesn’t look similar in face at all, although there are plenty of references on the Internet... This also applies to the wax figure.
