American actor Billy Drago has passed away

The actor died on June 24 in Los Angeles at the age of 76. Billy Drago. Most viewers know him mainly for his roles as villains in TV series "Charmed", "Secret materials" и "Supernatural", as well as gangster drama "The Untouchables"" from Kevin Costner starring. Fans of 90s action films love and appreciate Billy for a whole string of on-screen scoundrels of all stripes: from drug lords to corrupt cops and even androids.

Well, fans of fighting games themselves remember Drago as a villain who was beaten by Cynthia Rothrock ("Dragon Lady 2") and twice - Chuck Norris ("Delta Squad 2" and "Cool Walker").

Billy Drago real name William Eugene Burroughs Jr., born November 30, 1945 in Hugoton, Kansas. After graduating from high school, he worked as a stuntman in Dodge City, then entered the University of Kansas, after graduating from which he worked in radio in Canada and New York. And then, taking his grandmother’s maiden name - Drago, he began to storm the cinematic Olympus.

Drago's calling card is, of course, his unusual appearance, predatory, repulsive and attractive at the same time. The Indian blood flowing in his veins added a kind of “spice” - a piercing demonic gaze, a deep oval face, a sensual mouth with a disgusted and slightly offended expression. This whole cocktail was decorated with unconditional acting talent and organic nature, which is why Drago’s villains often looked more interesting on the screen than the “correct” and boring main characters. His image was so complete in itself that sometimes additional makeup, for example in a mystical film "Vamp", looked at least unnecessary.

At the same time, Drago was a “universal villain” who fits perfectly into any aesthetic, be it the Wild West, Chicago of the 30s, post-apocalypse, futurological landscapes or the neon night streets of New York. He could have been a great villain in Bond or some film adaptation "Mortal Kombat".

Well, an era is passing, but whether something new and equally bright is coming to replace it is a big question... Rest in peace, Billy.
