Australian martial arts practitioner, stuntman and actor Paul Allicia got into big cinema in 2012 and received very good offers for his skills. For example, Allicia can be seen in such large Chinese projects as "Armor of God: In Search of Treasure" (2017) with Jackie Chan, "Sky Hungter" (2017) with Fan Bingbing, "War of the Wolves 2" (2017) with Jackie Woo and Beginners (2019) with Darren Wang.
Almost six years ago, Paul began making his own independent film as a director. It turned out to be an action adventure film called "Robin Hood Under Siege" (The Siege Of Robin Hood).
Synopsis: When the family of a young man named Robin is brutally attacked by the Sheriff of Nottingham's soldiers, he vows revenge on those responsible. Robin recruits a team of outcasts and fugitive warriors, each of whom has a grudge against the sheriff. Together they develop a plan to take revenge and rid themselves of the ghosts of Robin of Sherwood's past.
He played the main role Paul Allicia (“Trigonal: The Struggle for Justice”, “The Battle of Longtan”), and he was accompanied by: Kali Williams (TV series "Doctor Blake") John Fallon ("Attack on Rio Bravo") Dave Beamish ("Necromancer"), Matthew Keating (TV series “Criminal Australia”) and others.
The film finally received a limited release in its home country of Australia. 3 June, and to online cinemas "Robin Hood Under Siege" set off 7 June 2022 year.
Next in our selection of independent films today is a kung fu comedy from Brazil called "Master of Smoke" (The Smoke Master).
There are two Brazilians at the director’s helm: Andre Sigwalt и Augusto Soares. They also wrote the script for the film.
The film is about two brothers Gabriel and Daniel, who almost accidentally crossed the path of the Chinese mafia, the leader of which vowed to take revenge on the brothers up to the third generation of the family. Now, in order to survive, the brothers must master a little-known and controversial style of kung fu based on the use of cannabis. To do this, they go to the Chinese mountains to the most specialized master in the world.

Another unfinished indie project is about to be released. We are talking about a hand-to-hand action movie called "Peak of Night Fury" (Rage Peaks At Night).
A web series by the director and choreographer of fight scenes was released under this title in 2019 Matt Merritt. As a result, Matt decided to combine all the episodes, as well as shoot new episodes for a full-length version of his own story.
The film's plot centers on Julia, a woman searching for her brother through connections in the Triad while being pursued by the occult crime family from her past, the Apostles, led by one Judas.
The main roles went to the actress Lauren Biazzo (TV series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”) and stuntman Tom Caserto (“Big Brother”, “Kidnapping”, “Kung Fu City”).
Unfortunately, the creators have not yet announced the release date of the project.
