About the fantastic action movie "Skyline 2" (Beyond Skyline), which is a spin-off of the not very successful 2010 film about an alien invasion, began to be talked about immediately after the premiere of the first part. However, very small box office receipts left the sequel in a frozen state for a long time. But now we can say with confidence – “Skyline 2” is coming out!
Unfinished director's construction Liam O'Donnell, who was the screenwriter and producer of the first film, finished filming back in 2015, spending the rest of the time on additional filming, special effects, post-production, etc. In 2014, action film experts interested a cast of the future sci-fi thriller. The cast included an American Frank Grillo (TV series "Kingdom", "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"), as well as Indonesians Iko Uwais и Yayan Ruhian, known from the duology "Raid" and film "Merantau".
In the story, Grillo's character plays a detective who is looking for his son at the time of an alien invasion on Earth. Events will take the detective to Indonesia, where the hero Grillo will meet the leader of the local resistance played by Iko Uwais.
Apparently, the plot is structured in such a way that you don’t have to watch the first film. The alien invasion in this case is a given and the setting of the story. Not long ago, an excerpt from the upcoming film appeared on the Internet, where Iko Uwais showed his fighting skills, who, apparently, will fight hand-to-hand not only with people, but also with evil aliens from outer space.
In addition to Frank Grillo, Iko Yuvais and Yajan Ruhjan, who got a small but, hopefully, action role, the film starred: Serbian actress Bojana Novakovic (TV series "Westworld"), New Zealander Callan Mulvey (“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”) and other actors.
Frank Grillo this year has already scored the main negative role in the recently released action movie Jackie Woo Jing "War of the Wolves 2", Iko Uwais in a controversial thriller "Bullet in the Head", and Yayan Ruhyan in a tokusatsu film "Heroes of Satria: Darkness's Revenge". But each of the actors has quite interesting projects ahead, the most desirable of which, of course, is "Triple Threat".
26 2017 October, the "Skyline 2" will be released worldwide. On this occasion, the first trailer for this fantastic action film has appeared.
