Beginning of the Meiji era. Japan is on the verge of transition from the Middle Ages to industrialization. Samurai have no place in this modern society, where warriors are less useful than merchants. Unemployed, having lost the right to carry swords, coming face to face with firearms and cannons, the samurai gradually disappear, turning into legends. Kenshin is one of these rogue warriors. Once a great sword master, he is now a vagabond wandering the roads of Japan. But, no matter what, honor and courage will turn the former mercenary into a beloved and respected crime fighter.

Movie “Vagabond Kenshin” (Rurouni Kenshin) directed by Keishi Otomo (Keishi Otomo), which is an adaptation of the manga Nobuhiro Watsuki about the samurai Himura Kenshin, is scheduled to hit Japanese theaters on August 25, 2012.
