The director said that preparatory work has been going on for quite some time and that "Kung Fu Showdown 2" (Kung-Fu Hustle 2) will not be a direct continuation of the story of the first film. In the new comedy, the plot will unfold in our time, and the events will not take place in China.

Chow, 56, also added that he does not plan to play the main role in the film, as he did in the 2004 film. In fact, Stephen has not appeared on screen in significant roles for a long time, the last of which was the family fantasy film Chow "Seventh" (2007)

But recently the film has had as many as three directors who intend to bring the long-suffering fantasy to the end. They became Jonathan Lee ("Edge"), David Lee (“Madness”) and creator of comics about the adventures of Cloud and Wind - Ma Wing-Sing, who volunteered to help stage the film adaptation of his own work. He's also doing the script.

It is unknown whether the actors who portrayed the main characters of the franchise in 1998 and 2009 will appear in the threequel. Aaron Kwok и Ekin Cheng, who in 2022 will already be 56 years old and 54 years old, respectively. However, it is known that another famous Chinese actor has already signed on to the project - Louis Koo (Storm franchise, Call of Heroes, Kung Fu Monster).

Another franchise will also receive a third film, namely "Police of the Future" (1999) and its sequel "New generation special forces" (2000). This was recently stated by the leading actor of the original film (he was not in the second part) Nicholas Tse.

According to Tse, the third film in the series will go into production very soon, and the director of the first two films Benny Chan wrote a script for it.

What’s remarkable is that the entire original cast returned to the project. Let's finish today's selection with news about two sequels of the successful Japanese franchise "Vagabond Kenshin", announced by representatives Warner Bros Japan.

The first film has a subtitle "The Mystery of the Cross Scar" (Mystery of the Cross-Shaped Scar) and will be a prequel to the whole story, in which the creators will tell the tragic story of how the sword master Kenshin received his famous scar on his cheek.

The second film is called "To the most terrible enemy - Enisi" (Most Terrifying Enemy – Enishi). It is he who must finish Kenshin's story.

The main role is still assigned to Takeru Sato, who played Kenshin in the original trilogy (2012-2014). Will also return to his role Amy Takei. In the director's chair for the sequels is again Keishi Otomo. There is no more information about the caste.

Both films are like one, but divided into two parts, so they have a common name - "Vagabond Kenshin: The Final Chapter".

Both films are scheduled to hit theaters in 2020. In the meantime, the creators have only provided a poster for the future samurai hit.
