[SOME FILM DETAILS ADDED]

A miracle has happened! The teaser trailer for Tom Yum Goong 2 starring Tony Jaa has leaked online!

Teaser trailer for the film “Tom Yum Goong 2”

According to the director Prachyi Pinkayu, work on the film is not yet completed. Here are the main reasons why filming took so long:

  • They want to make the film as best as possible, and the head of Sahmongkol Films Somsak Techarattanaprasert understands this and has nothing against it.
  • Filming in the format 3D take a lot of time, in particular, to master all the subtleties 3D-system, it took many days. For things like this, you need to change the choreography, the camera work, and not just shoot what gets into the lens. I kick wants the audience to feel like they are part of the film, to have blows thrown at them in the face so that when watching it there is a feeling of fear of getting injured. However, he doesn't want to overdo it 3D, causing headaches for viewers, this will happen on the screen only in the right places.
  • Flood in Bangkok. Almost all roads in the city were blocked.
  • On the set of one of the biggest stunts with a motorcycle chase and a fight on the roof due to incorrect timing Tony Jaa received quite a serious injury. It dealt a serious blow to production, causing a delay of almost two months. Nevertheless, The shot with the injury will end up in the final version of the film.. Another month has been allocated Tony for a wedding.
  • Pregnancy Gija Yanin. For this reason, they couldn’t really film any of the action episodes with her participation. Her heroine is a very important screen character, and the creators had to somehow get out of this situation.

Personally, it’s difficult for me to speak objectively... I just have a very even attitude towards both Jaa and Reid... Donnie, of course, is an interesting figure, but I can’t expect something enchanting from him in advance. But: 1) I agree with Celpaso that Gareth Evans is still trying to make some kind of independent movie. When watching Raid, I didn't feel anything synthetic. It's certainly old, and it's actually solid pop, but it's a complete standalone and fairly mature project. And this is good. Because I'm already sick of showreels.
    2) I don’t agree with this production: Jaa will produce something that we have already seen a hundred times (and it will be so), and Donny will shoot something new. Well, no... Donny can also remove the boyan. Even if it is something in his classic style, we have already seen this too and this will also be a stylistic cliché. It might just be better than most. And, let's say, not as bland as Jaa's.
Although I'm more interested in Donny's film. Maybe because I’m just not really looking forward to TYUG 2, much less these old cowboy songs about the main thing. Sorry))

During my absence, TRAG 2 was not released? ;)

I remember the first film that I watched with Tony. It was a bad recording...Camprip and it was all shot in a bad way. I watched it several times. And here, well, there is not a single frame...not a single one.

What kind of crap I just watched... so many expectations.... in the end... a complete failure in my eyes...... Ugh, thank God... At least now I won’t wait as much as before. Yes Tim They're running out of mana. They've already lost their spirits... Tony Jaa is exhausted... He's not the same anymore. The principle of no ropes doesn't work. But what kind of tricks are there?! I personally haven't seen a single trick. Ropes are not a trick, they're a trick. In general, it remains wait for a new one to appear and replace Ja. As for Donnie... he’s generally exhausted for a long time.... on his ropes, and his fights are repeated 100 times 1 on 1. Just the only thing left to wait. So this raid 2. Everything There is nothing more to wait for and to believe in.

of course, AGAIN a dramatic plot about elephants"
I also wrote about this that Tyug-2 will be g...but with elephants, oh merciful Buddha, bows. And about Yanina he wrote that she was pregnant. And about the lack of selected opponents for JA. The trailer is horror - not one clear blow, weak stunts with motorcycles and falling from the roof, accelerated fights, darkened and no faces visible...
In general, the film is on the level of Tim Man.

Lindolion, please tell me, what kind of movie is “Straight Shot”? What is its English name? Is it online? Thanks in advance!

It would be more correct, sorry:
    Tiger Cage I (Precise Shot)
Cage of the Tiger II (Close Acquaintance)
    On Execution 4 (Red Power)

*In brackets is the name that was on video cassettes of those times.

It doesn’t matter to me how interesting the script is, the budget of the film, especially the acting, the high-level fighting game - it either exists or it doesn’t.

    I totally agree.
When they try to insert an abstruse plot into a film with good fighters, and the fighters themselves try to pose as great actors (with the words: “I decided to rise above my standard image and show real acting”), then the result is always rare garbage.

    Author's gravatar

I'll just say one thing. Just like 20 years ago, I am still captivated by high-quality fighting games; I am still amazed by the choreographed fights of Donnie Yen in When Executed 4, Precise Shot, Cage of the Tiger. TYG is the best with Tony Jaa, and in Raid the fights in the corridors are aerobatics. It doesn’t matter to me how interesting the script is, the budget of the film, especially the acting, the high-level fighting game - it either exists or it doesn’t.

The first Raid made a splash because of its brutal action....let me repeat again, ACTION...and not because of the fascinating plot or brilliant acting...
This means that it was not filmed at an average level (!)...

Special Identity...finally a modern action movie from Donny....since (what can we hide) many fans are tired of these historical dramas with flying men....I want to see something new and modern...and not what was or could have been 500 years ago!...and Donny makes such films every year....
Special Identity is just a long-term gift to fans))

"A cool mochilovo in the slums, filmed at an average level, only interesting to certain circles"

These CERTAIN circles are many times EXTENSIVE than the circles of the overwhelming majority of fighting games that are currently being released. I’m not a fan of the first part and think the film is overrated, but the fact that The Raid turned out to be an extremely successful film (both in terms of box office and critics) is a fact. So to say that it is only interesting to certain circles... ALL fighting games of today would have such circles ;)

"As the producer of this film and knowing Donnie's responsible work ethic, we can be confident of his winnings."

Donny is a man who is never JUST an actor on set. So, based on these facts, I wouldn’t say that the film will be successful... nothing good has come of it since Ip Man 1. At the same time, I must say that I am a big fan of Donnie (Donnie of the 00s) and am looking forward to this film with great anticipation.

“Notice that someone is trying to make money with a sequel, and someone wants to make a new movie.”

And those who want to make a new movie don’t want to make money? There's no need to attack sequel developers like that. Gareth makes HIS movie. If this is possible within the framework of a sequel...then what's wrong with that? He did not immediately fly to Hollywood, but stayed in Malaysia to film the continuation of HIS film on HIS terms. Who loses from this? Nobody. The director has the opportunity to work one hundred percent, the actors have the opportunity to give 100 percent, the audience gets a good fighting game, which (due to the fact that this is a SEQUEL of a successful film) will be more widely distributed in the world and will receive a large number of MOVIE releases (or someone against see a fighting game on the BIG screen?)

I don’t think so, because Tony’s comeback has been expected for a very long time, although the duet between Donny and Willson is like a breath of fresh air from China over the past 15 years. Well, you can expect anything good from Reid II.

Here's my prediction for these three films:
    1.RAID 2.
What can you expect from this film? Even more bloody fights, based on the energy from the first part. Like, the first episode turned out well, hurray! Let's put together a sequel before it cools down.
Why did it cool down? A cool mochilovo in the slums, filmed at an average level, only interesting to certain circles. I doubt that anything decent will come out. Again the same water in a glass. Why? Yes, because everything is the same.
    2. TOM YUM GUNG 2.
Again elephants, slums, mafia and... Tony Jaa returning from depression, from whom we all expect something incredible. What can you expect from him? Perhaps all that remains is to fight on the ears. This is something we haven't seen yet.
You think that Panna will stage something unimaginable with him. Hardly. Moreover, in the teaser in the fights, I did not notice a single really strong blow or some kind of exciting fall, as was the case in Tony’s previous works. Maybe there is something special in the film that was not shown to us. Well, let's hope. Jijja Yanin was brought in after the CHOCOLATE hype. Like, put everyone in one group and it will be a hit! I doubt. But the chances of this picture are still better than those of RAID 2.
    3. Special Identity.
Donnie Yen, whom we have all been waiting for in a modern image for several years now, will certainly bring a sense of driving energy into our emotional minds. As the producer of this film and knowing Donny's responsible work ethic, we can be confident that he will win. Namely, an interesting detective story, Donny’s impeccable acting as always, brilliantly staged fights, partners in the film in the person of Andy On, Collin Chow and Ken Lo. What can we say about the excellent cinematographer Peter Pow (The Hitman, Double Team), and the editor Wei Chung ka Fai (all the latest films Donny + Magnificent + Black Mask).
I'm not defending Donnie's work, but just looking at all the facts realistically. Note that someone is trying to make money with a sequel, and someone wants to make a new movie. That's the whole difference. Here you don’t need to be a smartass to know the outcome; it’s enough to compare everything that’s happening and a lot of things will fall into place.
    Miracles are always predictable.

Definitely “Special Identity” will be the best among these two films. A fresh, modern "breath" with Donny, after all his traditional films lately, will be promising. 100%!

But I’m still waiting for the film and hope to see it in cinemas and in 3D. But I’m a little afraid, there are elephants again and maybe it’s Tony...
Yes, and I’m looking forward to the second Raid! Undoubtedly!

A man went out onto the stairs to smoke and heard a loud swear word and a roar from his neighbor. Then the neighbor comes out with 3D glasses in his hands. He told him: what is it, why are you so noisy?
    - Yes, you see, I bought a 3D TV and decided to watch porn - so I almost got into my mouth five times.

They remove it from YouTube almost immediately. If necessary, I can send it by mail.

I will be very grateful, one of the most anticipated films.

Now I'm waiting for two films: this and "Special Identity" with Donny. I also found the trailer for the film “The Wrath Of Vajra” with Hungg Yu interesting.

Just a sight for sore eyes 5 from 5. IMHO the most anticipated film in the last couple of years.

Why are Yanina and Chupong here, flying on ropes? Tony would have pulled one out

Somehow I didn’t notice Chupong. And there were rumors that he didn’t film here.

    Author's gravatar

    - And why? On the contrary, I paid attention to this fragment. I remembered Bruce from FIST OF FURY, where he threw two Japanese into the dojo. Interesting.
I think that the scene with motorcycles will be just as interesting.

But I didn’t notice JiJu Yanin at all. Why was she dragged into this film? This fact is not clear to me.

Well, because something like this looked bad already in the 70s, but in our time it’s like that in general... It smacks of Bollywood. + I won’t be surprised that Bruce was not the author of this idea and it’s unlikely that this “technique” was to his liking (you can see how Bruce’s fighting style evolves for the better from film to film, because with each film he had more and more control in your hands when filming... the same thing with Jackie’s paintings, in the films of the 70s the style of DOBryusov’s action films was still visible, but in the 80s Jackie’s style had already gone)

Jija was pushed in, apparently, for the sake of advertising. When they announced that they would both be in the film...everyone was very happy.

    Author's gravatar

Indeed, it’s a pity that the video doesn’t understand what quality it is, BUT... you still feel that this creation is different from many Thai films in this direction. It was filmed well, by the way. Just like that.
Tony Jaais so fresh and still bouncy! That's a plus.
True, in some places I didn’t really like the convincingness of the blows.
There is no such thing as in ONG BAK 1m, when at underground fights he charged the dude straight after the “FaK”!!! That was power! But I think in the cinematic editing process everything will look super!

    Celpaso:
“I didn’t like the way he turned the two motorcyclists around... not interesting.”

    - And why? On the contrary, I paid attention to this fragment. I remembered Bruce from FIST OF FURY, where he threw two Japanese into the dojo. Interesting.
I think that the scene with motorcycles will be just as interesting.
I agree about the “steppe with elephants”. To the bathhouse!

But I didn’t notice JiJu Yanin at all. Why was she dragged into this film? This fact is not clear to me.

It’s a pity that the video is of poor quality, BUT I like the return of Ja’s true style in fights without any “I can show wushu, and karate, drunken fist, and tai chi, etc., etc.”, the camera work is simple (sometimes you can see that the camera was stupidly placed and...ACTION) and magnificent, and stunts in the style of Jah (with greetings to Chan)

I didn’t like it: the car chase in some shots was shot at the quality of a TV movie (I didn’t like how he turned two motorcyclists around... not interesting), the nafik cables didn’t give up, and of course AGAIN there was a dramatic plot about elephants... idiocy.

I was pleased with RZA’s phrase at the beginning about “I’m a fan of your talent, but for the last 5 years you have become a country boy, such a life is NOT for a person with your abilities.” Excellent banter on the topic of Jah’s real biography (apparently this phrase was not translated by Jah =))

    Author's gravatar

Damn... Even with all the dampness of the video, and the shitty quality of the video, it looks just awesome!!! :)

    Author's gravatar

Why are Yanina and Chupong here, flying on ropes? Tony would have pulled one out

    Author's gravatar

As I understand it, this is the same promotional video from Cannes, only longer. On Thai resources they write that this is an international promotional video. Vongkamlao fired, of course: “Your elephant is missing? Again?” :D

    Author's gravatar

The film promises to be simply crazy in terms of stunts :) I liked it, but the cables are visible. Let's wait for a quality trailer)
