Mini-news: Tekken: Rise of the Tournament, The Night Comes for Us, One Good Thing

Stephen Paul, CEO of the company "Crystal Sky", announced at Cannes that he intends to make a film “Tekken: Rise of the Tournament”. This will be a prequel to the action movie "Tekken" 2009 years old John Fu starring.

Gender hopes that the prequel will be released in theaters, although no deals have been made yet. The cast has not yet been determined, but it is known that the actors will look like their prototypes from the video game series.

The most interesting thing is that they plan to hire a Thai as director Prachyu Pinkayu (Ong-Bak, Tom-Yum-Goong, Chocolate, The Kick, Tom-Yum-Goong 2). o_o

Business partners of the company "XYZ Films" Nathaniel Bolotin, Nick Spicer, Todd Brown и Aram Tertzakyan intend to shoot two new Indonesian films in a row "The Night Comes for Us" и "One Good Thing". Their production will begin next spring, after work on the second part is completed. "Raid" - action movie "Berandal", the actions of which will take place outside of any one room. All three of the above films will be produced in collaboration with an Indonesian company Gareth Evans "PT Merantau Films". Their budgets will be a little over 1 million dollars. The creators expect to recoup production costs with local screenings, and international distribution will be a net profit. An example of this was "Raid", which, with a budget of $1 million, after release in the states by the company Sony Pictures Classics earned more than 4 million

Film script "The Night Comes for Us" was written Gareth Evans и Timo Tjahjanto. The latter will also serve as director. This is a neo-noir assassin thriller. It will star actors from "Raid" Joe Taslim и Yayan Ruhiyan. The company will produce "PT Merantau Films", "XYZ Films" will serve as executive producer.

Film script "One Good Thing" wrote Todd Brown (Twitch). The main roles will be played Yayan Ruhiyan и Marko Zaror (Undeniable 3). It's the story of a mobster and a cop who reluctantly join forces to protect a young girl caught in the middle of a fight between rival gangs and dirty cops. Will make a film Kimo Stamboel (together with Tjahjanto they make up a director's duo called "Moe Brothers").

Finally Marko Zaror appears on screen, he hasn't been for a long time. It's nice to see his fights and I especially liked his role in Undisputed 3

Also happy to hear news about Tekken! I hope the director will be different and the fights will be staged much better than in the first part

    Good morning!

And I didn’t go to the topic where it was posted after numerous additions. :)

I knew that Rukhiyan would grow noticeably; after such a well-played role as Mad Dog, one cannot help but rise. Well done.

After the recent film adaptation of Tekken, which completely disappointed me in all respects, I hope that the project will be closed and forgotten about my favorite fighting game until better times. Everything needs to be changed, starting from the general directors and screenwriters.

So John Foo may not be in the second part?

Everything will depend on which character will be made the main character.

To be honest, after The Kick I was very disappointed with Pinkayu.
