Levels of Death (Kod-So) – a new name for the action movie Bangkok Knockout

Thanks to the writer and screenwriter Jonathon Cimino (Jonathon Siminoe), who lives and works in Thailand, managed to get some details of the project “Levels of Death” (Levels of Death), formerly called “Bangkok knockout” (Bangkok Knockout). On my personal blog Simino told readers about working with the team Pannas of Rittikrai and published several interesting videos from the set. Here's what he wrote (in chronological order):

I must say that 2010 started very well. I met many people involved in the Thai film industry and enjoyed meeting fellow film enthusiasts. Of course, they were interested in the prospect of making films, and I was interested in the prospect of learning how to make films. However, they asked me with great respect and curiosity about the film world outside of Thailand, and I learned a lot about how films are made in Bangkok. I must say, this is a very interesting world.

So now I'm working with an outstanding director, stunt coordinator, writer and producer named Panna Rittikrai. Its most characteristic feature is the development of new talents in the world of combat cinema. At the moment the two best Asian stars are Tony Jaa и Gija Yanin. I will publish some videos with the two of them a little later.

So, for the sake of those who read my blog, I will try to go online more often and throw up little news about the Thais.

Here in Thailand, I was accepted into the team to work on the film. These guys are simply amazing. About six months ago I was asked to write a script for Pannas of Rittikrai, director and producer of such hits as “Ong-Bak”, “Ong-Bak 2”, “Ong-Bak 3” and many others. I wrote him several options, which he rejected due to lack of budget, but he liked my writing style. In the end, we agreed on my idea of TRUST, and he was convinced that such a plot was enough to make a film.

We're just getting started, but the good news is that he's putting together a team of some of the best filmmakers to work on this project. I'm just a screenwriter, but he allowed me to join them and learn the art of filmmaking from the best.

A busy day filming Levels Of Death

The working English title of this film is Levels of Death (Levels of Death). This is the best I could come up with. The Thai name is written โครตโส or Kod-So (in translation: “extremely risky”). In fact, this is the Esson language. Be that as it may, the shooting of the film has ended, and now it is at the stage of editing and preparation for advertising. Technically I was the screenwriter, but midway through filming I was brought in to help develop the characters and plot. I did my best and enjoyed the process more than I could have imagined. I was able to work with a number of great actors who amazed me with their talent. The film consists of 30% English dialogue and 70% Thai dialogue, with subtitles of course. I think the best thing about this movie was the TEAMWORK. It was a great project that brought together veterans of the Thai film industry and my talented international team. We all hope this was just the FIRST of MANY projects to come!

Maybe they need an American IP, but who knows how to do it, or maybe viewing is closed for any country, I don’t care in general.
