Ours are also trying to do something in this direction... It is commendable, but of course, they are not quite up to par with their foreign colleagues.

What do you mean by this? Have you looked at everything on this page, or visited our website and got acquainted with our work there? If the first, then the video from Film Studio 9 is only a fan film about GRIM, and the videos attached in the comments are from Sergei Morin personally. Just so I can understand what exactly you are talking about...

    Under what, under this?
    I wrote everything I saw.
This is not the first person in the modern world who says that we need to go somewhere and see this and that in order to find out that we can do something else. Why?
Even from the first frame you can see who the creators are.
By God guys, you look like amateurs.
You can immediately feel the lack of cinematic layout and psychology of involving the viewer in the film.
What did I say that was unclear?
Everything that I wrote above applies to the first and the rest of the videos EQUALLY.

Yes... I completely forgot. The meaning of the GRIMM video?
Advertising some project, showing some achievements or something...?

What can I say, I haven’t seen this series. And in general, I’ve never been a fan of vampire sagas, action films or TV series. My personal opinion about this work, what I like and what I don’t like:

    1. I like that there are enthusiasts who are actively trying to create something interesting and exciting, this is always great, no matter what the field.
I understand perfectly well that every person is naturally given certain capabilities and it is difficult to demand more (they say I want to see a triple backflip and the like).

    2. You shoot videos in winter clothes or some other type of clothing, why don’t you work with the clothes themselves? After all, let’s say in the same Judo and Sambo there are a lot of tricks on how to throw an opponent using clothes grabs, if I’m not mistaken, one of the interpretations of Judo is fighting in clothes. The fight is very poorly worked out, as if it was staged right on the spot. The voice acting is also very weak, there are few bright sounds and dynamic impact sounds.
Of course, this is basically enough for some ordinary series on our television (school stories or regular law enforcement rescuers).
The music, in my opinion, doesn’t suit me at all. The editing is very fast in places, as if someone was moving the mouse along the slider. Before eliminating the pistol, they could at least give it a couple of blows, if not shoot.

In my opinion, shooting videos in a full set of winter clothes + in the forest on a winter night + with the presence of “Russian snowdrifts” and running through them is not the best idea for an action video, to put it mildly.

    3. I vote for roller skating in a dojo in a kimono or in the summer in one of the Moscow alleys in ordinary loose sportswear or classic clothes. Try to practice working with ordinary improvised means available to every citizen.

    4. I would like to see in the videos more focused on this or that martial art or fighting method. So that the technique, techniques, combos can be clearly seen. Leave the running from the bathhouse through the snowdrifts to the river for comedies =)

    5. For you guys on the team, you need a good, ideological storyboard artist with professional drawing skills, who will be well versed in martial arts in their types and their history. So that before you put on the video, you draw a full-fledged storyboard, you look at it together, discuss what is possible to do what is impossible. If he also owns 3D Max or some 2D animation program, it will be even better. In other words, we need a fight scene director who will not be indifferent to this branch of cinematography.

    Well... you're welcome.

I watched all the team's videos.

    The idea:
The guys are a bit confused with their thoughts. Although there is a certain amount of craving for humor. This is good. If they develop, they will go further into cinema.
    Actors:
It feels like there was no one behind the camera who knew more or less the basics of convincing acting. But the guys are trying. Again a plus.
    Filming and editing:
Once again I am convinced that practically no stunt team in Russia films and edits themselves in a cinematic style. The yard's handwriting is visible. And the CINEMA plans, they’ve all been invented a long time ago. You just need to use them. True, plans are different. Take cinematographer Arthur Wong and compare his work in MIRACLES and ARMOR OF GOD to THE FUZE or KING OF KILLERS. There is a difference, right? But in the first and second cases, everything was filmed correctly, with certain tricks.
They talk about a genius not because he shot something cool. And within the framework of laws and templates, it was removed so that many are amazed! This is genius.
By the way, the light was good in some of the night shots!
    The installation is pretty mediocre.
In general, film experts and everything will be great!
    Choreography:
I saw Sergei Morin in action. It really can do a lot. You don't feel this in the movies. I don't want to say Wow!!! And I say Wow only out of respect.

The main plus: The guys want and can. My advice to them: Look for smart, like-minded people or break into cinema with an advantage in your position. As far as I know, there have been minimal steps in this direction so far.

    In custody:
What does good mean for Russian Movie?
I believe that in Russia they can do a lot! And there are a lot of good guys who are ready to make films and act in them. But just tie
it’s like Jackie Chan, so it’s interesting, unusual for Russia and of course hardly anyone can watch it.

By the way, this sketch was shot with simple digital footage and edited several years ago, but despite this, it is worth paying attention to the formulation of plans and actions. There would be cool kids in Russia, and under the strict guidance of Nizhny Novgorod filmmakers breaking through to the big screen, wow, what could have happened!
