Gary Daniels in the sci-fi action film "Astro"

Star of hand-to-hand action films of the 90s Gary Daniels will star in a sci-fi action film from an Indian director Asif Akbar (series “Axis” and “Advanced”) called "Astro" (Astro).

Akbar secured funding for this project at the recent film market in Santa Monica.

According to the news agency THR, the film will follow the aftermath of a private interstellar space exploration mission funded by a mysterious billionaire. Upon returning to Earth, it turns out that the crew brought with them an alien creature that was taken from a recently discovered planet for experimentation.

Here's what he said about the character Gary Daniels film director:

Gary plays Jack Adams, a former special forces soldier and combat veteran, as well as a single father. He lives quietly with his daughter, but one day an old friend appears to him, after which Jack becomes the target of an illegal experiment with a recently discovered and abducted alien entity, which will force the main character to reconsider his mysterious and difficult past.

The script, which was written by Akbar himself together with Bernard Selling, involves filming in places such as Roswell (New Mexico), Los Angeles, Bangladesh (India), as well as on location in Asia. The company will produce Film Life Factory backed by unnamed Hollywood financiers.

The rest of the cast of the future Sci-Fi action movie is already known: Jonathan Lipnicki (TV series “Defective Detective”), Louis Mandylor ("Spreading Darkness") Michael Paré ("Lincoln for the Lawyer") Eric Roberts ("The Expendables"), Bollywood star Omi Vaidya (“Some Justice”) and others.

When asked whether there will be hand-to-hand combat scenes in the film, Asif Akbar told reporters the following:

It won't be your typical foot-stomping action movie, but the film will certainly feature some cool action and stunt scenes, including some hand-to-hand combat scenes. The fights in the film will look more realistic. By the way, he is responsible for the fight choreography Spice Williams-Crosby, who worked on such hits as "Guyver" (1991) "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1996) "Adrenaline 2" (2009) "Terminator Genisys" (2015) and many others.

I'm definitely a fan of the action genre as much as I am a fan of the science fiction genre. The cast includes Jonathan Lipnicki, who also practices martial arts, and he also plays the role of a soldier/veteran who will be involved in the action scenes. I can say that he is seriously preparing for this new role, even for himself. I tried to mix the genres that I love to see what would come out in the end. I am happy to have so many representatives of action and fantasy cinema of different ages.

Many people don't realize how much of an impact martial arts has had on the film and entertainment industry, especially since the time of Bruce Lee when the phrase "martial art" was first coined. Many of our cast and crew have martial arts backgrounds. I took karate lessons myself when I was growing up in Ohio and watched all these old kung fu action movies, which I later learned a lot from when I decided to become a film director. It's a way of life for many people in the film business.

Well, let's hope for a full fight between Daniels and Lipniki.

The film's release is scheduled for 2017, but there is no exact date yet, but there is a poster.

I don’t expect anything from this work at all, it will be neither here nor there, mark my words...

All this is interesting, only Daniels makes an actor like me a ballerina - I can dance, but it’s painful to watch)

Actually, Daniels knows how to play, a normal game, not at the level of Robert Deniro, of course, but he knows how to show emotions.

      Lee,

It is unlikely that he will need to play anything special here. And he knows how to build a cool mask.

I do not know! Filming a fantasy with actors of this level... It’s better to limit yourself to ordinary action films, bang! bih! shrah! shrih!
