Prouduser Ed Pressman signed a contract with the director Phillip Noyce and screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen to create a remake of the 1988 cult action movie "Bloody sport" (Bloodsport). The project will be financed Pressman with Alberto Lanci. Executive producer - Mark DiSalle.
The plot is based on the story of an American who, in order to recover from all the atrocities he saw in Afghanistan, goes to Brazil, where he ends up at a martial arts tournament.
There is no information about the cast yet.

Personally, I'm surprised that most people want to see Adkins in this film. In Bloodsport there should be only ZhKVD in the main role, no one else.
KS is my favorite film in this genre and I don’t believe the remake will be successful. and even something like that won’t happen. It turns out that old man Mark DiSalle decided to cut down the cabbage because he is, in my opinion, the only one from the team of the original film. What captivates us about the original? JKVD is the one and only, his opponent Chong Li (you can’t find a second Bolo), amazing soundtracks by Paul Hertzog, and of course unique, unlike anything else tournament battles. The 2nd KS looked poor, the remake will be about the same level.
It seems to me that in terms of technique and his physique, Adkins is very suitable; remember how he played a Russian special forces soldier in the film “Tournament for Survival”... =) xd So SCOTT ADKINS IS THE BEST!!! =)
