Dolph Lundgren Talks 'The Expendables 2' and 'Universal Soldier 4: The New Dimension'

Regarding the film “The Expendables 2”

Dolph talked about the “window” in his schedule that he is keeping until September to film his own film called "Skin Trade" (Slave trade), but if Stallone will be ready, he will postpone the project while filming in “The Expendables 2”.

Dolph Lundgren: I hope so too, I haven’t read the new script, so I don’t know [the details]. But I'm looking forward to this project.

У Dolfa also asked how he would react Sly to work in “The Expendables 2” under the direction of another director in the person of Simon West.

Dolph Lundgren: Well, I think he’s done this before, you know, in the case of the first and second “Rimbaud,” so it’s not the first time for him. You know, Stallone will have an influence on everything in this film, I'm sure he will shape the direction of this project. I think this will free him up a little, because working around the clock without rest is hard work, and in the previous film he worked tirelessly.

He was really exhausted and traumatized, like he was on his last legs, so I really feel sorry for him, but, you know, the movie was really successful, although I think it would have been good for him not to have gone to such extreme lengths while working on the movie, and enjoy it and have fun.

Regarding the movie “Universal Soldier: A New Dimension”

Dolph Lundgren: John Hyams shot it entirely in 3D. It was another small role, a very good one, I think it turned out quite well in the end. I haven’t acted in 3D films before, but it was interesting.

My character had long lines to [spiritually] unite the squads of universal soldiers, like, “once again for a breakthrough, my friends!” [laughs] I don't know what the end result will be, but when I looked at some of the footage, it looked good.

I had to fight both Andrei Arlovski and Scott Adkins, unfortunately not Michael Jai White, but Scott is a good guy, I really liked him, and Arlovski, of course, is an authority, so it’s always interesting to fight him.

Dolfa asked whether the film would be shown in cinemas, given that it was filmed in 3D.

Dolph Lundgren: Yes, I hope so. The film's age limit is high - “R”. I have to give John Hyams credit - he didn't hold back when it came to the gore, the film is extremely bloody and violent. There was so much theatrical blood everywhere that I had a rash on my face and body for two weeks, it was very cool!

General opinion Dolfa about the film.

Dolph Lundgren: It's more thoughtful than the last one, John had more money to work with, and the film is more violent.

У John Hyams I have also accumulated a lot of positive things regarding acting Dolfa. Here's what he said briefly before:

John Hyams: I think everyone will be pleased with Dolph's contribution to the film. He couldn't restrain himself either!

Here... The trick is that they say one thing, but the text version on the original website differs simply [prohibited by censorship] as...

Don’t kick with your feet, I translated these “beauties” according to the TEXT. I'll delete it to hell... :(

I don’t know about the fourth unisol, but the third was... um... rare in short, hehe)))
And from the second I was just M.D. White remembered. And a bit)))
The first movie will still be a 90's classic!

And what I remember most about the second is Goldberg and his phrase “I hate that guy.” :)
