Anis Cheurfa. Questions and answers

Movie premiere “Tron: Legacy” (Tron: Legacy). Standing on the blue carpet of Hollywood Boulevard is a young trickster athlete turned movie star. Anis Cheurfa, dressed in a formal black tuxedo.

We (the reporters), who seemed to know everyone present, began hastily asking each other: "Who is this?" Then his representative approached us and asked if we would like to speak with Anis, tricker and “best fighter” of the film [Tron: Legacy].

“Cheurfa, Anis Cheurfa!” Yes, that's exactly what we heard when an energetic young man approached us and introduced himself; like a tuxedo-clad man of mystery named James Bond. However, native French (Algerian origin) Anis Cheurfa younger (he's 23) and perhaps taller, and his speed and fitness could give him a head start Bond and other action heroes.

Well known for his unique style of kicking and performing various somersaults, Anis Cheurfa is the first of a new generation of daredevils in tricking, a discipline inspired by martial arts.

Anise traveled from Paris to Los Angeles to expand his knowledge of taekwondo, but soon ended up in the cinema, and now at the premiere. He answered a number of questions from reporters.

What do you think about all this Tron hype?

Anis Cheurfa: This is my first premiere. And I wore a tuxedo for the first time.

So what is “tricking” and how did it find a place in “Tron”?

Anis Cheurfa: “Tricking” is a mixture of several martial arts styles, mainly based on Taekwondo, since it involves a lot of kicking. There are also gymnastics and some breakdancing moves. It consists of all this and at the moment this is exactly what it is.

How did you start doing this?

Anis Cheurfa: I do taekwondo, that’s where it all started and has been going on for eight years now.

Note by: Eight years! A pro at a relatively young age. Ladies, in case you were wondering, Anise is already taken. His girlfriend lives in Southern California, which is another reason he came to the States. Who could have known that director Joe Kosinski and his team would stumble upon tricking online and see the incredible “pinwheels” that trickers make. Ultimately, Kosinski's team decided to implement this new style into their updated and improved version of the Tron universe.

You were called the “best fighter” from “Tron”. Why?

Anis Cheurfa: (laughs) Yes, I play that role in the film. One day a director came to our gym and assessed how we did somersaults and performed techniques with discs. Joe Kosinski, the director, decided that my physical shape, build and height suited his requirements, and that's how I ended up in the film.

It turns out that you are so smart?

Anis Cheurfa: Yes, I am. I think I'm pretty fast (nods, laughs). You'll see in the film. The pace of what is happening is very high. An extremely interesting, catchy world. It all looks very cool. You'll see.

So, if you know martial arts and are a tricking specialist, did you perform all your tricks yourself?

Anis Cheurfa: Yes, all the fights that you see on the screen were done by us, trickers, fighters, everything except the motorcycle chases.

Most of the actors, including your character (Rinzler), were dressed in very tight suits with what looked like armor. How did you move in them, not to mention your jump shots and landings?

Anis Cheurfa: These suits were actually quite flexible. My suit was so elastic that I could freely perform all my movements. Each person had their own individual costume for filming.

You've already had a taste of Hollywood, what's next?

Anis Cheurfa: It was a great work experience. I would happily continue. I came here with the goal of improving my martial arts skills and improving my skills. As for films, it’s just super. Let's see what will happen next.

"Avatar is complete bullshit. He smokes on the sidelines, because Tron is cooler."

I didn’t like both films as films, but from a technical point of view, Avatar is more complex and of better quality - that’s a fact.

Avatar is more interesting, but the throne is more dynamic. It took 60 lyams more for Avatar, and almost everything is drawn there. And the throne also has decorations.
Anis's showreels are really cooler, apparently the film just didn't revolve around him, and he mainly works with his feet, and there he had to fight with disks.

FOR ME....the throne is smoking on the sidelines......
    3D insignificant due to conversion...
and as for Anis...in his life, his show reels are a hundred times cooler than in TRON.
A COUPLE OF SALTS WITH 360 DEGREES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, BUT LOOK HERE
HOW HE CREATES A COMBINATION OF THEM IN THE HALL IS REALLY IMPRESSIVE...
THE THRONE DID NOT CAUSE ANY EMOTIONS..... REFANTASIZED... FANTASY IN ONE LAY...
THE MATRIX IS MUCH MORE COOLER...

It's more dynamic, so to speak.

Avatar is complete garbage. He smokes on the sidelines, because Tron is cooler.

Cameron doesn't smoke on the sidelines for several reasons: he's the first to make such a large 3D film, and his world in Avatar is much more complexly drawn and depicted (forests, animals, rivers, skies, etc.) than in Tron regular black background and LED lines of different colors =)

Tron Legacy is truly an exciting film. Cameron smokes on the sidelines.

Yes, I also looked all over, but I couldn’t find anything... I read this article, though in English. But anyway, thanks for your work, good article!
