Director Jacob Montrasio (Jakob Montrasio), being a fan of Italian “spaghetti westerns” and martial arts films, decided to create his own action movie, mixing these two genres. The new project was named "Shangdown: The Way of the Spur".
The authors promise the absence of cables and computer graphics, a large number of fights using various styles of martial arts, including traditional kung Fu, Brazilian jujutsu, capoeira, modern MMA и Muay Thai. To create an even more exciting spectacle Montrasio hired a stunt team “Ruan Stunt Team”, which viewers may remember from the John Woo film “Battle of Red Cliff”.
The plot is based on the story of an Italian cowboy and martial artist named Guerino (Christian “Kang” Bacini), who is in Shanghai searching for his missing sister. By using Jiekai (Daddy Chan), a Chinese man whose girlfriend also disappeared, Guerino begins a war with the largest crime boss in Shanghai and his numerous henchmen. He has only one rule: Strike first and ask questions later.
