Director Nicholas Winding Refn (Drive) and Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling last Friday we attended the opening ceremony of a new film festival “Hua Hin International Film Festival”. Currently they are both working in Thailand on a new action movie called "God will forgive" (Only God Forgives). This is a film about a Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster who decide to settle scores in the ring in a fight Muay Thai.
Two weeks that Gosling spent in Thailand, almost entirely were spent on scenes with Thai boxing. The actor said that he was very impressed by the skill of the local Thai fighters.
It's very hard. There were people training around me, and any of them could have beaten me.
The film is produced by companies "Gaumont" (France), "FilmDistrict" (USA) and “A Grand Elephant Production Co.” (Thailand).
Among the other stars present at the already concluded film festival, one can highlight the producer Terence Chan, director Prachyu Pinkayu, Gija Yanin, Crystal V, Alexa Meraza и Johnny Nguyen, who, among other things, trained at a local camp Muay Thai (coincidence???).
