News about the Indonesian project Hooligan (Berandal)

One of the upcoming projects presented at the PiFan 2010 film festival (Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival) was a new film by director Garret Evans called “Hooligan” (Berandal). Todd Brown, who is directly involved with this project, shared some information.

Two “stars” of the action movie “Merantau” will again star in the title role - Iko Uwais (Iko Uwais) and Yayan Ruhian. The new film will take on a dramatic slant and will be tougher in terms of action. The film is a gangster film in which Uwais' character will be serving time in jail. There he will become a member of a gangster group and, upon release, will begin to work for them as a debt collector and enforcer (note: a member of a gangster gang whose function is to enforce its demands or carry out its sentences).

And how will Iko Uwais, with his childish, naive face, play his role? He has already changed. After hard work in the gym, he “pumped up” his torso and shaved his head. The changes are quite impressive and Todd Brown recognized him after only a few attempts when watching recent training videos that Evans sent him.

Ruhiyan will also get some great moments. He will play the role of a shaggy, long-haired assassin whose weapon of choice is a machete.

If you believe Todd Brown's promises, he will soon post a short video, so to speak, for starters. Follow the news.

I can’t even imagine him bald, unshaven, covered in tattoos and with a bunch of scars. :)
