The legendary "Green Hornet" will return to the big screen

One of the most famous masked duos who fight organized crime is, of course, the Green Hornet and Kato. And it may very well be that this couple may soon return to the big screen again!

At the helm of the project is Gavin O'Connor, which definitely delighted action-thriller fans in 2016 "Pay" starring Ben Affleck.

According to news agency Deadline, O'Connor wants to rewrite the classic story from scratch, as has been successfully done Christopher Nolan with his trilogy "The Dark Knight" и Jay Jay Abrams, which rebooted two iconic sci-fi franchises at once "Star Trek" и "Star Wars".

Franchise "Green Hornet" originates from a radio show in the mid-30s of the last century. The show was created George W. Trendle и Fran Stryker, which featured stories about newspaper publisher Britt Reid and his Asian valet, Kato, who is also a martial arts specialist. Together they fought crime, covering their faces with masks.

When the time came for the popular story to move to the silver screen, the leading duo were cast in the leading roles Van Williams and legendary Bruce Lee. Together they starred in a one-season series (1966-1967) and a feature film (1974). Then, the story about the adventures of the Green Hornet and Kato was filmed two more times.

In the form of a short film franchise "Green Hornet" (2006) directed by French director Aurélien Pautrimou, and the main roles were stuntmen and martial artists Emmanuel Lanzi и Patrick Waugh.

Hollywood did not go unnoticed either, which tried to resurrect the franchise by transferring the story directly to the big screens with a film "Green Hornet" 2011 years old Seth Rogen и Jay Chou starring. However, the film did not collect the desired box office, and the question of a sequel was shelved.

Nothing more is known about the new reimagining of Bumblebee. We can only wait for news and wonder who can play these superheroes today?
