Conan Lee returns to action films, Aki Aleong's new project and the first teaser for "Ghost in the Shell"

American martial artist, stuntman and actor of Chinese descent Conan Lee, which should be known to visitors to our site from such Hong Kong paintings as "Ninja in the Dragon's Lair" (1982) "Invincible Tiger" (1988) "Prince of the Sun" (1990) and others, returns to cinema with a new project.

Conan Lee's star went out almost as suddenly as it lit up with the release of the film Corey Yuen “Ninja in the Dragon's Lair”, where the duet Lee was composed by a Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada. By the end of the 80s, the demand for Lee's fighting and acting skills subsided. Conan spent the late 80s and early 90s in cheap Filipino crafts, working as a stuntman and double in such American films as "Maxi" (1985) "Gimkata" (1985) "Armed resistance" (1986) "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986) and "Mechanical Killers" (1986). Conan also played the brother of the character played Jet Li in the cult Hollywood action movie "Lethal Weapon 4" (1995), but all his scenes were cut from the final version of the film. Lee's last film appearance dates back to 2007 - it was an independent action movie. "Lady Samurai".

Conan plans to return to action films not only as an actor, but also as a director and screenwriter. Lee's upcoming project has a non-trivial name MMA, although some resources indicate the name "MOTHER". The genre of the film will be a drama in which Lee will play the main role of an international action star who has retired from acting due to her mother's illness.

There is no official synopsis yet, but it is already clear that the plot of the film will be based on Conan Lee’s own story, which, however, was far from worldwide recognition. Production of the film should begin this September.

It remains to be added that Conan Lee's previous directorial experience was more than terrible. We are talking about an American action film from 1996. "Showdown in Los Angeles", where the main character raised money for medicine for his mother by participating in underground battles. Then one of the main roles was played by someone we knew well Lauren Avedon. By the way, previously сообщалось that Conan was preparing to star in a new film, however, the project, apparently, never took place.

If you have forgotten or don't know who Conan Lee is, we strongly suggest you read interview with him on our website. Well, and watch a short clip of his fight scenes.

81-year-old actor, screenwriter, director, producer, musician and whoever else Aki Aleong She is very prolific for her age. In any case, he has no plans to part with film roles yet, and is preparing his own Chinese-American project called "Road to hell" (Road to Hell).

Aki Aleong is well known to action movie fans for his roles in films such as "Braddock: Missing 3" (1988) with Chuck Norris, "In search of adventures" (1996) and "Pound of Flesh" (2015) with Jean-Claude Van Damme, "Dragon: The Life Story of Bruce Lee" with Jason Scott Lee, in TV series "A-Team", "Aliens", "Cool Walker", "Streets of Justice", "Power Rangers" and many others. The first teaser for the upcoming sci-fi action film has appeared online "Ghost in armor", which is a Hollywood adaptation of the cult anime Mamoru Oshii 1995, which in turn adapted the comics authored by Shiro Masamune.

Here's the official synopsis: By 2029, thanks to ubiquitous computer networks and cyber technologies, virtually all people will have received a variety of neural implants. But cyber technologies have also brought a new danger to humans: so-called “brain hacking” and a number of other crimes directly related to them have become possible. A long-wanted hacker, nicknamed the Puppeteer, begins to interfere in politics, and then the “9th Division” of the Public Security Bureau, a police unit equipped with the latest technology, is ordered to investigate this case and stop the Puppeteer.

In the director's chair of such a responsible project is Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the Hungtsman") The main star of the film was a Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson, whose choice for the lead role disappointed many fans of the original. The rest of the cast includes no less venerable actors from different countries: Michael Pitt (TV series "Boardwalk Empire") Rila Fukushima ("Wolverine: Immortal") Juliette Binoche ("The English Patient") Michael Wincott ("Romeo is bleeding") Johan Philip Asbæk ("Hostages") Chin Han (TV series “Marco Polo”), as well as a legend of Japanese cinema Takeshi Kitano.

Well, they showed a little in the teaser. But Takeshi Kitano’s character shooting at someone at point-blank range definitely pleased me. They also showed the awakening of Motoko Kusanagi (Johansson), which replicates a similar scene from the cartoon. There are a few more shots that we encourage you to check out when you watch the Ghost teaser.

The world premiere is set for 29 March 2017 year.

      Grassy,

So Yes. Just an established word from your own vocabulary. I use it sometimes without thinking.

The idea about an old killer, at least, is not a hackneyed idea yet. The question is the plot and its implementation...
