Sammo Hung will make a film about the “lucky ones”, Michelle Yeoh in “The Witcher”, new projects by Dacascos and Strange

Some of the noticeably aged seven members of the Chinese Drama Academy (they are the ones in the photo), namely Yuen Biao и Sammo Hung announced work on drama "Seven Little Lucky Ones" (Seven Little Fortunes).

In case anyone doesn’t know, seven very young students were called lucky Yu Jim Yuenwho studied Chinese opera with him. Among these lucky ones were the future stars of Hong Kong action, the most famous of whom were Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Wa и Corey Yuen.

Yuenya Biao is executive producing, and Hungg will direct. Interestingly, the actor for the main role of the stern teacher has already been found - he will be Tony Leung Ka-Fai (duology “Cold War”, “League of Gods”, “Once Upon a Time in Hong Kong”). The roles of children should be played by young wushu players who are selected throughout China.

Recall that Sammo Hung already took part in a drama with a similar plot, playing the main role of his own teacher Yu Jim Yuen. Movie "Painted Faces" for directing Alexa Lo came out back in 1988.

Well, this is at least an interesting project and we put it on a par with the films we expect from Sammo Hunga, is this a director's war action film? "Order of the Dawn" or films in which Hong had a hand in fighting choreography: wuxia "Invincible" и "Back to the past", anthology drama "Septet: The Story of Hong Kong".

Legendary action film actress Michelle Yeoh (“Yes, madam!”, the dilogy “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) will play one of the main roles in the spin-off of the series from Netflix across the universe The Witcher Author Andrzej Sapkowski.

For now, those who liked the first season The Witcher, waiting for the second one, bosses Netflix announced the launch of another series based on this fantasy universe, which will tell the story of the distant past of the world.

Here's the official synopsis: 1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, humans, and elves merged and the first Witcher was born.

Despite her advanced age, the 58-year-old actress actively acts in films, not ignoring action roles. In the mini-series "The Witcher: Origins" Yeo will play an elf who is a sword master. Will keep her company Lawrence O'Fuaran (TV series “Vikings”), who played the role of the northern warrior Fjall, who swore to protect the life of the king, but failed in the task.

The series will consist of six episodes and will be released in the spring of 2022. We can only wait for the trailer and hope for bright action scenes.

Another martial arts star is the 57-year-old Mark Dacascos (“Drive”, “The Crying Killer”, “John Wick 3”) joined an independent project "The Legend of the White Dragon".

Мы already wrote about this project, which is carried out by the guys from the creative team Bat In The Sun and personally brothers Schoenke - Aaron and Sean, who have web series behind them Super Power Beat Down и Ninjak vs. The Valinat Universe. The project started back in 2019, when its creators began collecting funds through the platform Kicktarter. Since then, there has been no news about this science fiction film. It's nice to know that the project is not abandoned.

Recall that "Legend" is a tokusatsu film starring the series "Power Rangers" and its continuations headed by Jason David Frank. Dacascos will play in the film the monk Xang, who has sworn to protect the White Dragon Crystal. He will help the main character Eric Reed in the fight against Dragon Prime.

The status of the project is still unknown. But judging by the photo of Mark in character, the film is in the active stage of filming. Well, now we will wait for this fantastic film with a vengeance.

It remains to be recalled that Dacascos has two projects under his belt: an action thriller "Ray" and hand-to-hand action "Nephritis".

Ubiquitous British-Indonesian screenwriter, producer and director Raniet S. Marwa continues to be in the news with new projects. This is strange, since the director has already been credited with several films, none of which have yet been released. The most obvious of these is the thriller. "Exiled: The Chosen" starring Sunny Pan as the film already has a couple of trailers. Star fans "Raids" they expect him to be an action movie "Blood Tide". In addition, Marwa talked about starting work on a thriller "She-Wolves". The latter, however, has hardly been mentioned recently.

Marva's new film is also a thriller in genre and is called "Fault" (Rupture). Apparently, the film is already being filmed in Birmingham, since there are photos from the set on the director’s social networks.

The main role in the future action film will be played by a martial artist, stuntman and actor. Mark Strange (“Iron Monk”, “Quarantine Z”, “Ip Man 4”). He will play the role of Raven, an unjustly convicted man who came to believe in God during his imprisonment. But he does not intend to forgive those who put him behind bars. However, revenge is not always the answer. Sometimes it becomes redemption.

Mark will be accompanied by an Indonesian actress Shally Amanda, and is responsible for the fight choreography Kiran Pande, who previously worked with Strange on the zombie action film "Quarantine Z".

We don’t even know how to feel about the latest news about Marva’s films. It seems interesting, but when will it be possible to see what this same Marwa is capable of?
