A short review in video format about the remake Doug Lyman film "House by the road" (Road House) 1989. In the original, he played the main role Patrick Swayze, and raised the bar so that it is simply impossible to achieve it. Not only because the acting of the entire ensemble was at the highest level, but also due to the fact that the time when films of this kind were “shot” is already irrevocably gone.
Jake Gyllenhaal performed well in the remake, but it showed a completely different character. A Conor McGregor He made his film debut quite successfully, and we will definitely see more of him on the screen.
The film is not bad. But only if we consider it as a separate action movie, filmed under the influence of "Road House" 1989. But as a remake, it turned out to be quite controversial.

I decided to rewatch the original first. Then a remake. It's not even close to the classics. Doesn't stick. Neither custom nor attention to detail. The original is made with soul. You can watch the remake as a standalone film. Not suitable for cinemas. I looked and forgot.
It was such a success. This is the third time I’ve watched it and I’ll definitely watch it again. Great movie. But the original has not stood the test of time at all. I don’t even really want to remember him (I didn’t like him too much even in the 80s).
The original is still watched today. It has very well stood the test of time. They're just different films.
Actually, those who watched the original on video cassettes did not expect anything different. Initially a failed idea.
