Filming of the documentary film Shaolin Boot Camp has completed

Thanks to a new documentary "Shaolin Boot Camp" (~Shaolin Training Camp) filmed in 3D, true fans of Chinese martial arts will be able to enjoy kung Fu legendary temple Shaolin.

The 60-minute documentary shows how the Hollywood actor and martial arts expert spent two weeks Jason Scott Lee learns more about the temple Shaolin, its traditions, and studies Shaolin kung Fu from the Shaolin monks.

Filming for the documentary wrapped last Thursday.

Shi Yongxin, abbot of the temple, tonsure Lee became a monk and supervised his training.

46-year-old Lee, who has American and Chinese blood in his blood, became famous after playing the role in 1993 Bruce Lee in film "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story". He also studied Jeet Kune Do under the direction of Jerry Poteeta, one of the students Lee.

History of the temple Shaolin and kung Fu was previously shown in documentaries and feature films, but for the first time a film is being made about him in 3D format.

This is a joint production of companies "China Intercontinental Communication Center", "Beach House Pictures" from Singapore and "3net", an American channel broadcasting in 3D. Premiere of the documentary on the channel "3net" scheduled for early 2013. The program will also be broadcast on Chinese channels in the future.

“Jason Scott Lee has a great passion for learning. The essence of Shaolin Kung Fu is not just about fighting and fighting, but mostly about culture, spirituality and faith. I am convinced that the documentary will show Shaolin in its true form,” - I said, Shi.

According to the director Donovan Chan, the last few years of shooting in the format 3D are gaining increasing popularity both on television and in cinema.

“Now is the right time to bring back the beauty and spirituality of the Shaolin Temple with its martial arts in stunning 3D quality, showing it to the world as never before,” - I said, Chan.

“Not only did we use state-of-the-art high-speed 3D cameras to capture Shaolin kung fu in slow motion, but we also used an innovative handheld 3D filming system. This allows us to convey on the screen the realities of living, eating and training with Shaolin monks without using a lot of outdated 3D equipment.”

Chan assured that this allows the audience to feel as if they are really in the temple Shaolin and enjoy ancient architecture with the masters kung Fu.

According to him Jason Scott Lee ideal for this role, as he is not only an expert in Jeet Kune Do, but also has a great understanding of Western and Eastern traditions.

“Jason Scott Lee: I was crazy about Shaolin kung fu as a kid watching Hong Kong martial arts movies. I hoped that one day I would be able to visit the Shaolin Temple, and often wondered: what is it like to be a martial monk? Now my dream has come true."

“If I say Shaolin kung fu, I mean fighting, medicine, training and philosophy. I learned that the point of Shaolin kung fu is to be focused throughout the day.”

Lee told that "qigong", system kung Fu, which includes the development of internal breathing, is very complex and differs from its training Jeet Kune Do because in Shaolin kung Fu movements are more traditional and classical, whereas in Jeet Kune Do - quite modern.

“Jason Scott Lee: What I remember most was meeting my teacher (Shi Yongxin) and the other monks. They are funny in real life, but they are very focused on filming. A delightful contrast."

“The team is international, from 5 different countries. Shaolin Kung Fu is not only an important part of Chinese culture, but also a global thing, as it has many fans all over the world." - I said, Jing Shuiqing, Director of the International Office of the China Intercontinental Communications Center.

It’s a pity for Jason, after the films Dragon: The Story of Bruce Lee and the Soldiers, he began acting in all sorts of bullshit like Time Patrol 2 and Balls of Fury. And I haven’t seen a single normal film about Shaolin yet, only crappy Chinese fairy tales about flying wars, even Jet Li disappointed with his films about Shaolin.

It’s very, very interesting to see what they can do. :) And I always want to watch about Shaolin!

And Wikipedia says that Jason is of Hawaiian-Chinese descent.

Hawaii is one of the US states, so everything is correct. ;)
