It happens that we come across very interesting projects that contain a topic that interests us. Horror-comedy "Renfield" (Renfield) is one of those.
Director's film Chris McKay, famous for science fiction action films "War of the Future" (2021) starring Chris Pratt, tells the story of one of the main characters of the legendary novel "Dracula" by authorship Bram Stoker.
Synopsis: Renfield, Count Dracula's loyal servant, is trying to settle down in New Orleans. He wants to get rid of the vampire's power, but the owner is not happy with this. However, among people, Renfield with his superpowers becomes a real superhero.
The main roles went to the actor Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”), comedian Awkwafine (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) and... himself Nicolas Cage (“Face Off”) as Dracula. Other roles include: Shohreh Aghdashloo (TV series "Space") Ben Schwartz (TV series “Space Force”), Brandon Scott Jones (“Don’t Think Twice”) and other actors.
A permanent stunt double is responsible for local action and stunts. Chris Evans and, in principle, a permanent stuntman in Marvel cinematic universe projects Chris Brewster (“Future War”, “Waldo”, “Black Adam”), was involved in staging hand-to-hand combat Nicholas Pelekay (“Samaritan”, “Black Adam”, “System”), and in the camp of stuntmen we discovered the name of a talented David Conk (TV series "MacGyver").

The main role in the film was played by the youngest son of the legendary Sonny Tiba – Japanese martial arts practitioner and actor Makenyu Arata (“Tokyo Ghoul 2”, “Kaiji: The Last Game”, “Vagabond Kenshin: Endgame”), and the rest of the cast is filled with familiar names: Famke Jansen (X-Men franchise) Shawn Bin (Shooter Sharpe franchise), Madison Iceman (duology “Jumanji”), Nick Stahl ("Sin City"), Diego Tinoco (Werewolf series), martial artist and actor Mark Dacascos (“Drive”, “John Wick 3”) and others.
You should have high expectations for the film, since a former member of the stunt team is responsible for the action design Jackie Chan – German Vi-Dan Tran ("Bleeding Steel", "The Phantom Six", "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings") and talented Joseph Le (“Everything everywhere and at once”), and for stunt tricks - another old associate of Chan - a martial artist, stuntman and actor Andy Cheng ("Wanted", "Phantom Six", "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings"). The stunt team includes a kung fu master and an actor. Tarell Cota Bullock (“Afro-Samurai Vinaigrette”) and a stunt girl Caitlin Houston (TV series “Lucifer”), and worked on previz Jay Kwon.
The film is due to be released in 2023, but the exact premiere date is still unknown.

Project called "Mother" (The Mother) is owned by a female director Niki Caro, which has already become famous among our brother thanks to the film adaptation of the cult story Mulan (2020)
The action film is about a deadly female killer who is trying to leave the past and is hiding in the American outback from influential people. But she will have to come out of hiding to protect her daughter, whom she abandoned many years ago, while real professionals are on the heels of the main character.
The main role in the film was played by a singer, dancer and actress Jennifer Lopez (“The Cage”, “The Wedding Planner”, “My Pirate Wedding”), and she is accompanied by: Joseph Fiennes (TV series "The Handmaid's Tale") Omari Hardwicke ("A-Team"), Paul Racey (“Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story”), young Lucy Paes (“Black Mass”) and others.
Lopez's stunt double is a well-known martial arts master, stunt girl and actress. Amy Johnston (“Lady Bloody Fight”, “Accident”), and in the ranks of the stuntmen we noticed a capoeira master, an MMA fighter and an actor Marcus Aurelio (TV series “The 100”, “Altered Carbon”, “The Flash”).
date of release "Mothers" unknown yet, but the film should appear on the streaming platform Netflix in May 2023 of the year.
