Review of the film Kunoichi (Ninja Girl)

Limited locations, one sentence script, ninja-killers and mediocre fight choreography – apparently, Seiji Chiba back in business. Without taking into account "Alien Vs Ninja", the advantage of which was a funny concept and funny rubber suits, Seiji Chiba did virtually nothing to change the future of cinema. His films rarely cross the one-hour length line, which is one of the few positive factors in his record, but despite everything, he relentlessly continues to make the same films.

“Kunoichi” (Ninja Girl) - the director/writer's latest film Seiji Chiba, and it has one attraction for viewers. This is a 19 year old karateka Rina Takeda as a tough girl ninja. During a time of fierce rivalry between clans Yoke и When couple of psychos ninja eunuchs tasked with kidnapping young women to use as “instruments of pleasure.”

But the girls are not going to give up without a fight. The kidnappers soon realize that one of their victims is kunoichi, trained woman ninja, thirsty for revenge. The cast consists of four girls and three boys, and if you are already familiar with the works Seiji Chiba, you know to expect a series of chases in the forest and a cool final showdown in a cave. "Alien Vs Ninja" I wouldn't even call it a good film, but it was filled with a good sense of humor. IN “Kunoichi” Chiba decided to abandon funny episodes in favor of a monotonous narrative. A mediocre spectacle from start to finish, with an emphasis on action and a lack of personality.

The long 7-minute credits are unlikely to make your plight any easier, and most of the subsequent scenes simply serve as a transition between fights. Scenario Chiba points to themes of sinfulness and exploitation, but viewers never see the world it describes. Possibly the reason for this was meager funding, but there are still signs of life in the script that could have been developed to a greater extent. Just as the plot begins to unfold, the end credits roll and we are left with a feeling of emptiness, disappointment and frustration. When the main character Kusaragi runs away into the distance, one would be forgiven for thinking that she is running away from amateur directing or a worthless, meager script. She's clearly not comfortable returning in future sequels.

“Kunoichi” - a waste of time for everyone, without any justification. The sluggish, tedious narrative, even in a short 65 minutes, is nauseating. Isn't it time to withdraw Seiji Chiba and whisper some good advice in his ear? Some might have us believe that he is a pioneering director of films about ninja, others will call him just lazy.

I like Irina :) Takeda. As far as we know, there are 4 films with her.
For the collection we need everything in Russian.

Hmmm. In the next film from Spielberg of the Land of the Rising Sun, we should expect gay ninjas and lesbian samurai... Well, or vice versa. In short, he still has a lot of work to do!

Ninja eunuchs are powerful. As they say, in battle, like bad dancers, nothing gets in the way... :)
