Martial artist and actor Joe Lewis dies

On the morning of August 31 at 10:45, the legendary martial artist Joe Lewis, one of Bruce Lee's students, passed away.

Joe, born on March 7, 1944, was a real karate star before meeting the actor, having studied this style in his youth in Okinawa. It is also believed that Lewis was one of those who pioneered the creation of full contact kickboxing tournaments in the 70s.

Joe rarely acted in films, but was remembered for his roles in such action films as "The Power of Five" (1981) "Cage of Death" (1988) "Mister X" (1995) "Kill them all" (2012) and "Deadly Fighter" (2017), which became the last film project for Lewis.

Rest in peace, Joe.

Vasdimm, under no circumstances should you be disappointed in Dacascos. He is beautiful. I say again, the reasons could be completely different, it’s corny that it’s written in the studio contract. Or remember: Benny Urquidez or Ron Smoorenburg caused a lot of trouble for Jackie Chan when they struck for real, thereby delaying the filming process and creating more takes. Smoorenburg was partially replaced by James Bradley Allan. Urquidez was filmed in full. Or it could be the other way around. Anything could happen. They had no practice in filming, they were accustomed to something else. There are many reasons.
And what about Jackie himself? He also has doubles. Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, Winnie the Pooh and everyone have doubles. Why will they also disappoint you? This is global professional practice, and not the whim or inability of actors to do certain tricks on their own. This is business, this is filming technology. Like in a theater or musical: there is a prima cast, there is a second cast, there is a third... This does not mean that the director doubts one of the actors, it’s just that a replacement is always needed. And to the cinema. Well, the scene didn’t go well for Dacascos, so they removed a double. Or vice versa, one of the extras constantly beat Dacascos in real life, Mark was spared and replaced with a backup)))
PS: Regarding “Only the Strongest” - everything is in perfect order there.

Ravenside, MARK decided not to risk himself, otherwise he could break his back on the same bed. But this arctic fox is outrageous all his life to think that what actors can do, and the understudies do such blows and stunts for them.
So you can make a martial arts star out of a Švratsnegara by selecting understudies.
Some understudies are e-mine.
Ravenside, if anything is found from the bloody battle, I will be grateful.

If you find understudies for Dacascos and the film ONLY THE STRONGEST, then this actor will generally disappoint.

By the way, on the last screen, opposite Dacascos’s double, it’s not Masaya Kato, but also a double) on the 4th screen - you can see the double of actor John Piper Fergusson, with a red mustache.

Yes, senk, I also already figured it out, I didn’t notice something in the html.
And so on for Dacascos. Everything is simple here: The screenshots are indicative, I also screenshot them offhand, there’s no need to explain anything, but I can’t resist:

It's clear: the Japanese face speaks for itself

It also says here:

And right there, lying on the table, it says no less eloquently:

In general, in the kitchen: all angles from the back of the head are doubles. A significant part of the blows, interactions with utensils, boots, etc. are doubles. I want to give Dacascos his due - he moves a little slower than the double, but an order of magnitude more graceful.

One screenshot from the garage:

There in the garage the stunt double did a lot of things: jumping through a rack of tires... and a lot of things...
And here Mark Alievich suddenly shrank, stooped and acquired short legs:

Once again, Mark, who is one of my favorite action characters, moves very distinctively. The difference with the double is immediately noticeable, not only in height, figure, hairstyle and the sudden appearance of cunning Japanese thin eyes.

Ravenside, this stunt double looks like the actor who fought with Shu in the monasteries - he also had a monkey-like style

The image address must end in .jpeg (png, gif, etc.), and in your case - in .htm, i.e. this is the page address.

Evil, I’m just copying the image address. savepic immediately offers it. For some reason this hosting is not displayed normally everywhere
Now I’ll post the Dacascosa at the request of the workers and check it out

Ravenside, in order for the image to be displayed normally, you need to copy not the page address, but the address of the image itself (by clicking).

The barbel reminds me of Yuen Wa in some way.

Well.. for example, here is the moment after a somersault on the opponent’s arm, performed by an elderly man with a mustache. I did a double. He's on the screen.

Very good looks like the original actor. But not him)

Ravenside, it’s very hard to still believe about Lewis.
They also wrote about the MK Conquest series that almost everyone there did understudies, well, it’s clear where the actors’ ability to jump and hit a U-turn will appear.
Robin Shu Ja dubbed in MK 2.
And in the bloody battle, did anyone else use doubles - did anyone notice?
You can also post Dacascos frame by frame if you’re not too lazy.

In general, it seems to me that this always catches the eye. And a long time ago, such a need arose, I spent days watching movie fights, drawing storyboards, and caught myself thinking that with a high degree of accuracy I can determine the places where there is an understudy and where there is not. I think most people see this too. YES and is it really not noticeable that these are 2 different people?)) Moreover, the difference is obvious when we talk about films of the 80-90s, where, as a rule, the doubles are people of the Eastern type, and the actors are Europeans.
Vasdimm, and the reasons are not only the inability of the actors to do something. There are both technical and technological reasons; you can film 2 different fights in parallel in different pavilions if deadlines are tight; you need to take care of the actor, because a lot of money was spent on him and on the filming process... and yes, sometimes the main actors cannot do something in the required quality, for example, in dynamics, in speed, to do a trick or combination without completely damaging the whole scene, then it can not be broken up by editing. Let's say... an example from my head: "Drive" with Mark Dacascos. Well, who's to say that Mark has a problem with tricks? However, a significant portion of the fights or sequences are performed by a stunt double.

Ravenside, amazing, how did you figure out about using a double?
Has anyone else used actor doubles?

Author's gravatar

Yes, of course, I even expected something like that))

In the first two screenshots, Lewis had suddenly grown a braid of darker, fuller hair, his eyebrows had clearly turned black, and his biceps had mysteriously disappeared.

In this screenshot you can clearly see the oriental face, the same lush hair.

Well, in the last screenshot the skinny little hands really catch your eye. And on top of everything else, the facial expressions and movements are completely different, filmed from such angles that the face is not visible. it's clear that this is not Lewis.

If the screenshots do not display the site interface, simply open the image in a new tab. Or I can send it by mail. It just doesn’t open in Google, but on the radical it will be small

Ravenside, I ask you to show this Chinese in screenshots with pictures.
I watched it 30 times on cassette, by the way, with a good translation and not the one on torrents.
If possible, don’t be lazy - I looked, I can’t see this Chinese guy.

Author's gravatar

Vasdimm, I saw it with my own eyes, just watch the film more carefully. The reasons for using stunt doubles in movies extend beyond the inability of the original actors to perform stunts.

Author's gravatar

Ravenside, who is that fat Chinese guy in the wig and where did you get this information?
Why does Lewis need a doublet - he’s a flask and couldn’t do a kip-up himself?

Author's gravatar

the acrobatics in the bloody fight were performed by Lewis's stunt double (a fat Chinese guy in a wig)) but compared to everyone else, led by the rotten Robin Shue, Joe looked very colorful))

Author's gravatar

Vasdimm, do you have a bloody fight 2? By the way, I also know the last actors you named). If there is a link or know where to download, please tell me)

Funeral with military honors will take place on Sunday 9th September in Knightdale. The farewell ceremony will take place a day earlier.

As an actor, he was frankly weak, and he fought poorly in films.
Besides the movie Bloody Battle 2, where else were Robin Shoe, Wayne Archer, Steven Tartalia))) probably only a dinosaur like me knows the latter.)
In Bloody Fight 2, he showed good technique and acrobatics, and had a good fight.)

Yes, Joe Lewis, even before meeting Bruce, was a master of martial arts and a world karate champion (as were Chuck Norris and Mike Stone). However, with the help of Bruce's training, he repeatedly retained his championship title.
RIP Joe

Han rey, yes, he is a student of Bruce - read carefully - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Lewis_(martial_artist)
Well, anyway, despite everything, he is a very noticeable personality in the world of biography. And for his activities, for his victories in the ring and in life, for his fighting spirit, we can say THANK YOU! Rest in peace, Joe.

I'm completely confused... Is he a student of Bruce Lee??? It seems he was a master in his own right, he even refused to star in the same film with Bruce... Isn't he??? The interview with Lewis was...

Condolences to his family and friends. He really is a real fighter! A great legend has left us!
