I meant that Reacher is a strong and quite high-quality film (and yes, I read all the books about it), and The Equalizer and Wick are dull, banal cranberries.
That's why Reacher is superfluous on the list. Of course, IMHO and all the accompanying lyala.
He was given the same equipment as Cruz
The ending may be great, but the final fight is puzzling - it’s so nondescript and clumsy.
An incredibly cool main character with hand-to-hand skills, at the mere mention of whom mafia bosses tremble, revenge for his wife, a prostitute, a dog, and finally, the title of the film is the pretentious name of the hero - yes, perhaps, nothing in common;)
Sorry, Celpaso, but John Wick is dull, and that's why I won't touch him. But the taste and color, as they say.
Don't touch John Wick! Simple as a plug, but very good. As a dog lover of the main character, I understand and absolutely support him, the ending is excellent. "Go home." =)
Why did you attack John Wick? The film is stylish, shot without discontinuous editing! This happens very rarely. I went to Wick twice! Someone above wrote that “the action flows slowly.” What nonsense? There is a delay for the first 2 minutes, and then there is continuous non-stop action. For me, it's better than many of the blockbusters that have come out recently. It's a hell of a deal to rent something like this for 20 million! I would love to see a sequel.
Of course, like every film, there are flaws, but it all pales in comparison to the action and brutality.
Speaking of Bernhard, I was glad to see him.
And also, I watched Taken 3 last night....horror! UG! The plot has already been sucked out of thin air. The first part is good, the second is much worse, and the third is complete nonsense! Olivier Megaton needs his hands broken off, and so does the editor! It’s not at all clear what’s happening on the screen during the action! A la the Borna shake.....
Christian Bale's Batman also likes to throw elbows.
I don’t know, I’ve watched Reacher many times and he’s not superfluous in the above list (however, maybe I’m not objective, since I’ve re-read most of his adventures). In my opinion, Cruise was successfully assigned the KFM technique, according to the books, Reacher also likes to hit with his elbows and saves his fists. As for the speed in "Wick" - I think that the whole point is that the basis of his technique in the film is judo and jiu-jitsu, the throw is still slower, but without clumsy blows you can show the professionalism of GG in fights
Jack Reacher is the odd one out on this list.
John Wick seems to be a good action movie, but everything happens in fights there somehow slowly. Although I’m probably just used to the lightning speed of Asian productions. By the way, John Wick, Jack Reacher, Denzel the Equalizer - films of the same breed, just a new trend.
Any movie is secondary. Moreover - BI.
John Wick certainly stands out compared to other products of this kind.
Pure class A action films (not comics) pay for themselves at the box office...
Wick is from this category.
Not being a fan of Reeves, I give him credit for popularizing good action. Not everyone is ready to “go down” playing in a pure genre).
Let's say there is such a good dramatic actor as Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave") with good training in jiu-jitsu (like a red belt).
However, except for one film, he practically does not demonstrate this.
Just like Richard Gere with a black belt in karate.
Agree, it’s still nice to review scenes where good actors SUDDENLY do something besides dramatic acting)!
Offhand, the fight between Cusack and his sensei in life - Benny Urquidez in
"Murder at Grosse Pointe." Of course, Cusack is not Donny, not Adkins, but as an actor he is stronger in dramatic terms.
In general, what I mean is that we should be more gentle with attempts like “John Wick”.
Better, perhaps))).
PS However, categorical behavior is now a general trend in Russia)))
Shadow of 13 looks cool, clearly better than the first part.
EvilDollaR, I’m writing to you by email and you don’t answer. Do you have the same “soap”?)
Maybe my emails are being put in “spam”!?) Please take a look.
I reinstalled the system the other day, but haven’t configured my email yet.
Offtopic, I watched John Wick here. Bernhard is handsome, he plays the leading role. Thank you for Defoe, William Patrick Kelly, McShane and beautiful houses, hotels and costumes, the rest is a piece of cake. A terribly dull, scary, poorly made and savagely irrelevant film.
