Jean-Claude Van Damme visited the prison in Jilava

Last Thursday Jean-Claude Van Damme visited the Romanian prison in Jilava, where scenes from his new film were filmed "Six Bullets" (Six bullets), and told the prisoners how a child, with hands as thick as a toothpick, turned into a world cinema star.

From an article on the gandul.info resource, we managed to find out some details of the ZhKVD visit, but, since the article was in Romanian, it was naturally not possible to translate the entire text. But with the video the situation is different - Van Damme spoke English, albeit with his incomprehensible Belgian accent.

So first stop JCVD (and he arrived with two bodyguards) took place in the gym, where he wished good luck in training to the pumped-up and tattooed prisoners, and subsequently took pictures with them. Van Damme told them that his friend Max had also served 6 years in prison, and left autographs on previously prepared photographs. Then he visited the library and two cells, where he took pictures with the prisoners.

The highlight of the visit was a visit to the prison club, where, in front of thirty breathless prisoners, the actor spoke about how he became famous.

I re-read all the superhero comics. I wanted to become like them. But when I looked at myself in the mirror, all I saw were toothpicks. I started training, doing martial arts and weight lifting. I wanted to prove that I was capable of more than some. Do you know what I mean? And I always thought that I would become... I want to become a movie star, like the comic book characters. I always had this particular dream in my mind. And just like that, after thinking about the same specific goal for years, I realized that it had begun to become a reality. So I went to America. I couldn't speak English. I was very poor, I left with almost nothing. For a while I was even looking for places to spend the night, for example, in cars, etc. I'm sorry for saying this, but sometimes I even stole food from the markets.

No no no. I would take the yogurt, see if I was caught on surveillance cameras, shake it up, drink it very quickly, and leave... And then the time came, and one day I starred in “Bloodsport”... I was given a role in “Bloodsport”.

After asking permission from the prison staff, Van Damme drew a caricature of a “jock” on the wall and signed it: “I like you all.” After drawing, the marker stopped working and Jean-Claude I used a pen offered by one of the prisoners.

“I think instincts are more important than any college” - I said, Van Damme, who provided consultations to prisoners. One of the prison officials hinted that JCVD may become Zhilava's prison psychologist, to which many of the prisoners reacted positively. And one of them told how he broke his arm as a child after trying to repeat what he did on the screen Van Damme. After all Jean-Claude left the room to the sound of applause.
