According to one of the well-known foreign resources, a one-and-a-half-hour version of a banned Vietnamese film was re-edited for censors. "Bụi Đời Chợ Lớn" appeared first on YouTube, and then went viral on torrent trackers.
Director's reaction Charlie Nguyen:
I am extremely shocked and saddened, as if someone wants my child dead. It was just a rough cut, with content, sound, color correction, special effects and framing trimmed down. I don't want anyone to see this version, because it looks like a half-finished product! We have put a lot of effort into delivering the perfect movie experience to audiences. And now we have to put up with the fact that people watch a low-quality and unfinished version and judge the film based on it. Whoever posted “Bụi Đời Chợ Lớn” online is simply not very literate, and acted too cruelly towards the film and our team. I hope the culprit is arrested and brought to justice.
There are no cables in the films Kiss of the Dragon, Danny the Chain Dog, Clash of the Dragon, The Master, Lethal Weapon 4, War, Fist of Legend, The Expendables.
I'll double-check the spam filter.
And this is an interesting idea, by the way. You should search and find out.
How about adding registration and authorization to this site? As if I had already proven over the past years that I am not a spammer :) And there was not a single link in the comment...
As for me:
• “Fist of Legend” (controversial, but pretty cool. I’ll be subjective, but I just liked this movie).
• “Black Mask” (although I watched it a long time ago, with fresh eyes I’ll probably see the cables).
• “The Hitman” (controversial, but still good, much better than “Romeo”).
• "Kiss of the Dragon."
• “Hero” (there are ropes, a lot of them, but the film is outstanding anyway!).
• “Denny the Chain Dog” (Uhhh! As for me, his last record.).
• “Fearless” (Jet started to decline around this movie).
Tell me, what are Jet's best films? (without cables, doubles and rewinding movements) “Romeo” and “From the Cradle” immediately disappear...
I would recommend documentaries. There is none of the above except in film clips. %)
I very much doubt that he is physically capable of repeating what he did in Chain Dog or Black Mask. I haven’t watched “The Gentlemen,” but I doubt that they are at their peak and show the best they have ever shown in their lives. I looked at the trailer - also, in general, not “Kiss of the Dragon”.
My opinion is that you need to leave on time. Change your image, take on other areas. If you are not able to make amazing action, then you have to rely on the script, humor, and drama. Jet recently had a completely non-combat role.
What does age have to do with it, I recently watched the Hong Kong film The Gentlemen, there are 60 year old men fighting great, without ropes, they are also former masters, they can do it, but Jet can’t?
Remind me how old Jet is? They also say about Jackie Chan that he is no longer a cake. And as for me, his last really cool films were also under fifty dollars. Jet came down from Olympus just a few years earlier. And Donnie Yen looks like he'll last a little longer.
Ps “Bụi Đời Chợ Lớn” I liked it. I can’t say that it’s super or cooler than “The Raid,” but the film is tough. The lack of installation is hardly noticeable. Many edited films are edited worse.
Unfortunately, there is nothing left from the action of the legend Jet Li, the whole film hangs on wires and is a hack job. And it’s also a pity for Jackie Woo, he wastes his talent on such a movie, and also can’t do it without cables. But the most amazing thing is that this movie collected $33000000, people probably remember Jet’s old films, and think that it will be just as cool, but not will.
OFF-TOPP:
From Scott Adkins' Twitter:
"Finished filming Hercules 3D, heading home for 3 days, then off to China to fight Jackie Wu Jing. Very busy (orig. WayTooBusy)"
Jet has run out of money for charity?..
and...
Jackie Wu
Collin Chow
Stephen Fung
Bruce Leung
Lung Ka Yan...
totally agree
Badges of fury is a very weak film. They fly on wires throughout the entire film. Shame on Jet Li.
Good news, I didn't expect to see him anymore. By the way, Badges of fury with Jet Li also appeared on the trackers today.
I watched the film on YouTube. I liked it. Even though it's an editing copy. Despite the fact that the sound is "rough", etc. No translation... This is a great movie. Gloomy and moderately tough. Johnny Tri Nguyen doesn't have the lead role. His first appearance on camera is not at the beginning of the film, but his charisma is certainly monumental. I liked the action scenes. Just that symbiosis of high-speed strikes like in Bay Rong and beautiful slow-motion stunts like in The Rebel. Loved the fight with Nguyen in the room. Where, despite the cramped space, there was room for the most beautiful jump shots. Overall I enjoyed watching it. The film (I repeat) is dark, disturbing, tragic... I am sure that if I had the opportunity to watch the full version I would have liked it many times more, but..... No offense to director Charlie Nguyen - many have been waiting for this film and many want to watch it, even in this... version.
Is there an uncensored version of the film?....If so, then I would watch it with great pleasure!...
Thank you. A frog with a shell is something. :D
