Hollywood wants to make a remake of The Raid

The hype has barely died down after the festival premiere of the Indonesian action film "The Raid", not to mention the premiere at home, as Hollywood is already planning to film a remake.

Negotiations with "XYZ Films" the company is engaged "Screen Gems" in collaboration with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, which purchased the rights to distribute the film in North America.

It's hard to say whether anything sensible will come of it. "Screen Gems", because one of the unique features "The Raid" there was just use strength, which Hollywood learned about (by the way, not everyone) from the film “Merantau”.

The director was offered a remake Gareth Evans, but he refused because he didn’t want to repeat himself. He's going to focus on the sequel, which he hopes to begin filming in February next year.

PS By the word sequel, most likely, we mean the action movie “Hooligan” (Berandal), the main character of which will be Rama, the character of Iko Uwais from the film “The Raid”.

Is there seriously such a movie? Because judging by the description, it may become my favorite)))

On Cinemageddon, it’s called “Ninja mission”. It’s also on Rutreker, but there’s a terrible rip from a vomited videotape. Filmed in Sweden in, I apologize for the inaccuracy of the above date, 1984. It's good that Cinemageddon has a version of "Uncut", because the film is part of the delightful galaxy of ultra-violent action films, and was cut off on tape. There are also two more films from these authors - "Eagle Island" and "Russian Terminator". They were called "Ninja mission 2,3", but there is no connection between the films. And they are not able to repeat the success of the first part. Well, all this is in English dubbing, accordingly.

Even more books are published per year, and they existed even earlier, but I have not yet heard of remakes of books

Damn))) I’m not talking about remakes of books, but about the fact that, due to a crisis of ideas, they are making remakes of films and buying up the rights to release films based on books. Moreover, they take everything, indiscriminately. What are the future film adaptations of the books “The Adventures of a Farting Dog” and “A Boy as Thick as a Leaf” worth?

And I agree about the original scripts, the producers are going to burn out, and so the good stuff is wasted. That's why I love trash - there no one limits the flight of their imagination and doesn't think about collecting. Cheap but expensive)))

Well, there, like a super-squad of ninjas is sent to the Swiss mountains to track down and kill the crazy Russian general Ivan Neutronov, but they are ambushed, and now they themselves are being pursued by special forces

Even more books are published per year, and they existed even earlier, but I have not yet heard of remakes of books. There are indeed reimagined versions, like “Pride, Prejudice and Zombies,” but again, there are a lot of their own ideas, albeit crazy ones) Nobody is against creative borrowing, like from Tarantina and Rodriguez, but making an indiscriminate remake of everything that happened when -successful already smacks of the insanity of studio bosses who are afraid to give money for a new original project, not knowing for sure that it will pay off. If you knew how many original ideas are floating around in Hollywood, every year they come out with a list of the best original scripts that cannot find funding, some have already been on there for many years.

Remake, then remake of remake, then remake of remake of remake, then remake of remake of remake of remake, then remake of remake of remake of remake of remake

and we'll remake the sequel again

With remakes in Hollywood it's not even funny anymore

This is to be expected. The film industry has been around for a very long time. And tens, hundreds of times more films were created than any of us saw. As an average viewer, we watch 50 films a year, and 50 are released a month. Many, many ideas and unusual moves have already been applied, and not all in first-class blockbusters: many interesting plots and swashbuckling performances were in “B” films, and even more in wild trash (you remember where Rodriguez and Tarantino get their inspiration) . Maybe someone will be indignant, saying - “They're sick of remakes! Let them do something original. Well, there, like, a super squad of ninjas is sent to the Swiss mountains to track down and kill the crazy Russian general Ivan Neutronov, but they are ambushed, and now they they themselves are being pursued by SPECIAL FORCES!" Sorry, but there has been such a film for about 15 years already.

But, along with the boom in remakes, a widespread film adaptation of literary works began. I hope that they will soon make a film based on the very book that lies under my pillow.

The fact of the matter is that Tatum and Timberlake are comedians. This is what EvilDollaR meant.
In general, I already want to look at the meat grinder Reid! I hope Hollywood finds a cool stuntman to play the lead role.

No, Tatum is just Tatum) a mediocre kid, I don’t know how he got into the industry. and Tim has potential as an actor.
It seems to me that if they do a remake, the emphasis will be only on violence, as in the original, and the choreography of shootouts, fights and camera work will be wasted. There will be a big-budget R-rated action movie in the style of Trump Aces, only without the trump aces, that is, plot, drama and zest. Just meat.

Yes, if they start filming a remake, then they’ll probably cast the next Justin Timberlake or Channing Tatum in the lead role...

Don't blame Timberlake, he's a pretty good comedian and actor. Well, tatum - he’s still that tatum)

With remakes in Hollywood it’s not even funny anymore, they remake all their classics, other people’s classics, cult films, foreign films (especially the idiotic remakes of the girl with the dragon tattoo, the remake comes out two years after the original). It's also nonsense and a complete lack of ideas.

That's right, and then for the remake of the remake of the remake of the remake of the remake we will make a sequel, and for the sequel we will again make a remake of the remake of the remake of the remake of the remake...

Well, come on. A remake, then a remake of a remake, then a remake of a remake of a remake, then a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake, then a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake...with the same actors again.
