After a long run through various film festivals, a martial arts drama called "Predawn Prayer" (A Prayer Before Dawn), which tells the story of an inmate in a Thai prison.
We have already mentioned this movie, which is based on an autobiography Billy Moore 2014. At the director's helm is Jean-Stéphane Sauveur (“Johnny is a mad dog”). Producers from countries such as France, the USA, Great Britain, Cambodia and China “invested” money in the project. Did the fight choreography in the film David Ismalone (“Ong Bak”, “Honour of the Dragon 2”, “Rumble Fish”).
Synopsis: young Briton Billy Moore ends up in one of the prisons in Thailand, known for its cruelty and unbearable conditions for prisoners. To survive, Billy decides to take up Muay Thai - Thai boxing, one of the toughest types of martial arts.
Played the main role in the film Joe Cole (“Dangerous Dive”), and his company was: Vithaya Pansringram ("Ninja 2"), Nicholas Sheik (“Dorm Trouble 2”), as well as himself Billy Moore and other actors.
The film should be released in early 2018, but the exact date is confirmed by the distributor of Sauveur's film. A24 at EFM doesn't name it yet. But you can already watch the trailer.

The next trailer in our selection belongs to the MMA drama "Cruel person" (A Violent Man), which competed for the title of Best Film at the Independent Film Festival Oldenberg Film Festival in Germany on September 14, 2017 under the title "Suffocating" (Choke Hold).
The director of the film is Matthew Berkowitz, known for the social thriller "Atrocity on the Blue Screen" 2014. A former NFL player played the title role in A Violent Man. Thomas K. Johnson, who, however, has been acting on TV and big cinema since 2011 (“Voice of the Streets”, series “Luke Cage”).
The plot of the film tells the story of Tai, a little-known MMA fighter who unsuccessfully tries to become famous. However, everything changes dramatically when a viral video of Tai in the gym defeating the world champion leaks onto the Internet. After Tai gains widespread fame, the police come to the fighter with a murder charge: a female journalist who was reporting on Tai was found dead.
In addition to Johnson, the following actors took part in this crime drama: Isaac De Bankole ("The Last Witch Hungter") Bruce Davison ("Steel and Lace"), Denise Richards (“Starship Troopers”), as well as a professional kickboxer, MMA fighter and actor Chuck Lidell ("War Pigs", "Height").
Company TriCoast Worldwide will release The Cruel Man in North America in 2018. But the filmmakers have not yet announced the exact date.

We’d like to finish today’s selection with a trailer for the British boxing drama "Journeyman" (Journeyman), helmed by a famous actor Paddy Considine (“Knockdown”, “Macbeth”, “The Death of Stalin”).
For Considine "Journeyman" is his third directorial project. The first was a short film "Worse than ever" (2007) and drama "Tyrannosaurus" (2011). He also wrote the script for his film.
Journeyman tells the story of middleweight boxing champion Matty Burton, who suffers a stroke after successfully defending his title. After the attack, Mattie tries to learn to speak, move and remember her past life again. For Matti, this will be the hardest battle of his entire life.
The main role was played by Considine himself. The rest of the cast includes: Jodie Whittaker ("Get Santa") Paul Popplewell ("Tyrannosaurus"), Tony Pitts (“War Horse”) and other actors.
Considine's film has already been to film festivals and is preparing for its British premiere in 16 February 2018 year.

Don't go to see "Foreigner", you will be disappointed. The trailer promised a lot of action with the evil Jackie Chan, but in the film itself his cat pooped, three short fights and all dull. Mostly you have to watch Pierce Brosnan chatter and try to make a political thriller.
It’s been 13 years since Jackie released a movie in the “fuckin’ cool, must-see” category. It would be strange to expect that anything will change this time. Nowadays even the category “not a bad film, good for a beer” is already for the good.
It's a pity though. This is the role: an old but still powerful man, it suits him very well. If they had made the entire film in the spirit of a trailer, perhaps it would have been the first “must see” film in all these years.
