Sports drama about boxing called "12 rounds Ghana" (12 Round Gun) is an unfinished project for the actor Sam Upton (“Lincoln for a Lawyer,” “Game of Survival”), for whom this film became his debut as a director and screenwriter.
"12 rounds Ghana" appeared on the big screens of various film festivals back in 2017, but now the film is available to mass audiences.
Synopsis: Rejected by many, alcoholic Joe Romano, who was once a famous boxer, returns to the sport after the tragic death of his own son. With the help of his only friend, Joe must go through hell to get rid of his addiction and start training again. Romano's only goal is to challenge his old rival: Joe must withstand him for at least 12 rounds.

The main roles went to Florence Pugh ("Lady Macbeth") and Jack Lowden ("Dunkirk"). The rest of the cast is entirely stars: Lina Hidi (TV series "Game of Thrones"), Nick Frost ("Like hot cops"), Vince Vaughn ("Fight in Block 99") and Dwayne Johnson ("Fast 5-7"), who is also the film's producer. Let's not stray far from Dwayne Johnson, or more precisely, from his family. Producers from JG Brothers - Justin и Jonathan Gajewski decided to make a feature film about Dwayne's father - Rocky Johnson, who was also a wrestler. The future film was named "King of Ring" (Ring King).
The story revolves around a black guy, Wade Douglas Bowles, who was born in Canada and raised in Nova Scotia. Young Wade always gravitated towards sports and even dreamed of becoming a boxer, but the guy was fascinated by wrestling. The film follows his journey to achieve his dream until he made his WWF debut in 1981 and became a tag team partner of legendary wrestler Tony Atlas. It was then that Wade changed his name to his pseudonym - Rocky Johnson.
Nothing more is known about the project. But the creators promise to start production of the film in 2019. We are waiting for cast details.
