Trailers: "Tokyo Clan" and "Shark Lake"

An English-language trailer for the Japanese film "Tokyo Clan"("Tokyo Tribe") directed by Siona Sono (“Suicide Club”, “Why don’t you play with me in Hell?”).

The film tells the story of the confrontation between two large street gangs in the setting of an alternative Tokyo. Criminal showdowns, street fights, sex and violence are closely intertwined with hip-hop, which has a special place in the film.

The film stars young stars of modern Japanese cinema: Tomoko Karina, Shota Sometani, Akihiro Kitamura and others. A small role was played by the legendary Riki Takeuchi. The script adaptation of the famous manga "Clans of Tokyo" belongs to Sion Sono himself, and the action was directed by a retired cinematographer (not really) So Sakaguchi and his team.

As with Sono's previous hit, "Why Don't You Play With Me in Hell," "Tokyo Clan" spent two years traveling to various film festivals, limiting distribution. The film opens in wide release this fall, as well as on Blue-Ray and DVD.

Another trailer that appeared online will remind us of Dolph Lundgren, who starred in a thriller called "Shark Lake"("Shark Lake"). The elderly action hero will be accompanied by a young girl Sarah Malakul Lane - an actress we will soon see in the remake"Kickboxer". Dolph is dubbed by a martial artist and stuntman. Tony Messenger.

Judging by the trailer and the official synopsis, Lundgren's hero, a fugitive biologist, will help a policewoman get rid of a smart shark that has settled in the lake of a small resort town.

For the film director Jerry Dagan "Okulie Lake" is a debut.

As for the first video, and again Japanese shit-trash, these Japanese don’t have a single normal film, they should learn from the Chinese.

      Dave,

I don't agree. The Japanese have a lot of good movies. Unfortunately, action movies are not very popular there now, but trash of all stripes has been and is in favor with the Japanese since the middle of the last century. It's just film tradition. The Chinese also have a lot of trash. It’s just that with the rise of their film industry, it began to look more expensive.

And Sion Sono shoots well, with all the conventions, of course. His last film was not bad, so I’m looking forward to “Tokyo Clan.”

          Dave,

As I understand it, it’s not worth recommending classics and good films of yesteryear? Do you need modernity?
From the battles in which Tak Sakaguchi was involved:
          "Death Trance"
          "Shinobi"
          "Samurai School"
"Why don't you play with me in Hell?"

Of the latter, the feature films “Vagabond Kenshin” were quite good. The Blood of the Last Vampire and The Legend of the Seven Monks are quite passable. In the early 2000s there was an excellent action movie called “Princess of Swords”. The last "Zatoichi" was of course more of a drama, but it looked good. And “Zatoichi” Kitano is absolutely wonderful in every way. The same “Suicide Club” by Sono is an excellent youth horror film. And there was also the atmospheric “Aragami” by Ryuhei Kitamura, who, of course, is pop, but started with the wonderful (albeit trashy) Versus and Alive.
Needless to say, in the late 90s and early XNUMXs, Japanese horror set the fashion for world cinema, and worthwhile samurai productions are still appearing today. Just like the Japanese have a serious school of dramatic cinema. Kitano alone is worth something with “Dolls”, “Takeshis”, “Blood and Bones” and his old crime films. I'm really looking forward to his new film "Ryuzo and the Seven Fighters", which will appear this year. And what genres does the talented and prolific Takashi Miike shoot in...

          This is just offhand.

Thank you for such a long list, but tramp Kenshin is bullshit. By the way, I remembered two cool Japanese films, a black belt about karate and Takeshi Kitano's brother. Still, they can if they want.

              Dave,

I watched "Clans of Tokyo" - I liked it, although the film is very ambiguous. The picture is original in many ways, but with good action.

With Dolph, a very interesting statement with a thriller!!! I would take a look.

Lungdren's final fight should be in the ring with a smart shark. Otherwise this film is not worthy of space.
