Trailers for the films "Pogrom at the Port of Matruh", "Wedding Massacre" and "Three Days in Malaysia"

While we wait, there are seemingly countless projects with the British action film star Scott Adkins, the release of a comedy film from Egypt called Mutrah Matrouhthat can be translated as "Pogrom in the port of Matrouh".

Мы already wrote about this project - the second Egyptian film with Adkins in one of the roles (the first, we recall, was "War in Karmuz" or "Do not give up"). The current film was directed by the duo Vailya Ehsana и Shaima Ibrahim.

The events of the film take place in 1940 around a tired man whose family vacation turns into a disaster when he and his family suddenly find themselves in the center of a war between Great Britain and Nazi Germany, the battles of which take place on the beaches of the port of Matrouh - it was there that the main characters arrived on their long-awaited vacation.

The main role was played by a 70-year-old Mahmoud Hemida (“Cat and Mouse”), who had already met with Scott Adkins (Undisputed franchise) "War in Karmuz" (2018). In other roles Karim Afifi ("Countdown"), Syed Ragab (Platform trilogy), Saif Mosen ("Sellers of Pain") Laila Ahmed Zaher (“In the future...”) and other actors.

Adkins' role is not yet clear, but the trailer clearly shows him dealing with Nazis with his bare hands. The comedy has already been released at home July 19, 2023.

Hand-to-hand combat was also promised in the comedy thriller called "Wedding Massacre" (Till Death Do Us Part).

The film is the work of a director we know Timothy Woodward Jr., who has been making niche action films for a long time with retired actors, like "24 hours" (2015) with Tom Sazemore, "Written off to reserve" (2016) and "Combat Mechanism" (2016) with Johnny Messner, "Gangster Land" (2017) with Sean Faris and "Stranger" (2019) with John Fu.

Synopsis: a wedding day should be the happiest for every woman. But for the runaway young bride, the night before the failed celebration became a complete nightmare - an angry ex-groom, taking with him his thug friends, burst into a cozy country house to kill her. This will definitely be an unforgettable night for the bride. If, of course, she manages to survive until the morning.

Played the main role in the film Natalia Bern (“The Expendables 3,” “Crazy Bullet,” “Hollywood Hustle”), the rest of the ensemble cast Cam Gigandet ("Never give up"), Jason Patrick ("My guardian angel"), Orlando Jones ("Time Machine"), martial artist and stuntman Di Why Sao (“Revenge at Speed”) and others.

A veteran of the profession was involved in local action and stunt coordination Arnold Chon (“Crazy Bullet,” “The Dark Past,” “King of the Streets”).

"Wedding Massacre" will appear in Russian box office - the premiere date is set for 3 August 2023 year.

Let's finish today's selection with the unexpected directorial work of the once boxer, and now a famous B-movie actor - Louis Mandylor.

Suddenly, not because he is a director - Louis has as many as ten directorial works like a thriller "In the Eyes of a Killer" (2009), phantasmagoric melodrama "Persephone" (2013), a dark tale "Elwood" (2014) and others. Mandylor's new film is called "Three days in Malaysia" (3 Days on Malay).

The genre of the film is a military action film, the story of which is based on real events. The film centers around several Marines stationed at a Malayan airfield during World War II who learn of an impending Japanese raid. Unable to obtain reinforcements, they engage in a harrowing three-day battle with enemy forces.

He played the main role Louis Mandylor (the “Collectors” duology), and he is accompanied by former mixed martial arts fighters Quinton Jackson ("The A-Team", "Trigger Day") and Donald Cerrone ("Death on the Prairie", "Project Legion"), and Ryan Francis ("Curse of Blood") Randall Bacon (TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Kelly Reiter (“Project “Legion”), a well-known martial artist, stuntman and actor Ron Smoorenburg (“Who am I?”, “Tekken 2”) and others.

Limited release, Video on Demand services and digital release await the film with 11 August 2023 year.
