South Korean screenwriter and director Kwon Hyuk-chae before that he was noted for a rather cool crime thriller "Intermediary" (2010), but now his new project is ready.
A movie called "Countdown" (Count) is a boxing comedy.
Synopsis: the former medalist and pride of the nation now works as a physical education teacher at school, and he is not the best teacher, because he is a former boxer and Olympic champion, who has his own cockroaches in his head. However, the main character notices several potential champions among the youth and decides to train them at all costs... even if they do not want it.
Played the main role in the film Jin Sung-kyu (“Space Cleaners”, “Cooperation 2: International”), and his company consists of: Song Yu-bin ("With the Gods: Two Worlds"), Jang Dong-ju (TV series "Class of Liars"), Oh Na-ra (“Finding Mister Destiny”) and other actors.
The film was released in its homeland 22 February 2023 year.
The director was also featured in the new film. Lee Won-tae, which gave us a good historical drama "Commander Kim Chang-soo" (2017) and swashbuckling thriller "Gangster, Cop, Devil" (2019) starring Ma Dong-seok.
Won-tae's new project is a crime thriller "Deal with the devil" (The Devil's Deal).
Synopsis: Busan, 1992. Assembly candidate Hae-woong drops out of the race because he has become a thorn in the side of local bigwig Sun-tae. Harassed by loan sharks for failing to repay his campaign loan, he decides to play dirty to get out of his web of trouble. He steals secret government information about the city's development plan and receives help from local gang leader Pil-do, promising a handsome profit from real estate. Now Hae-woong is back in the race and trying to take revenge on his offenders.
The cast of the film is filled with familiar names: Cho Jin-woon (“Battle of Myongryang Strait”), Lee Sun-min (“The good, the bad, the fucked up”), Kim Mu-yeol ("Gangster, cop, devil"), Won Hyun-joon (“Bad and Crazy”) and others.

The director and screenwriter of the film was Byun Sung-hyun, known for romantic comedy "My partner" (2012), musical drama “And the rhythm still sounds” (2012), crime thriller "Ruthless" (2017) and spy thriller "Eminence grise" (2022)
The film centers on Pok-sun, a woman who leads a double life as an assassin and a single mother to a teenage girl. When her contract with the agency comes to the point where her services need to be renewed, she decides to leave the company to find out why her daughter is shunning her mother.
Played the main role in the action movie Jeon Do-yeon (“Eruption”, “Snatch”, “Emergency”).
