Gradually, Chinese kung fu anthology for online cinemas "Heroes in Turmoil" director Ken Yip is gradually acquiring Blu-ray and DVD releases, which brings closer the opportunity to see these films with Russian translation.
Parts of the anthology were recently released "The brave man is not afraid of anything" и "Invincible Youth", and now it’s the turn of the kung fu action movie "The Real Iron Monkey" (The Real Iron Monkey).
Synopsis: Huo Dongge, chairman of the Jing Wu Sports Association, is old and in need of a successor. Only two people meet his requirements: the current head of the association, Kong Peng, and the head of another association, a girl named Guo Tian. When a list of candidates needs to be transported, Dunge asks a famous thief and revolutionary known as the Iron Monkey to escort and protect him. However, he considers himself too old, so he recommends the services of his grandson Zhong Te. During the trip, Zhong encounters a number of obstacles, but when he is attacked by someone with skills unique to his grandfather, he begins to suspect that something is wrong.
Played the main role of the grandson of the legendary Iron Monkey Pierre Ngo (“Ip Man 4”), and the rest of the ensemble includes: Mandy Ho (“The brave man is not afraid of anything”), Alex Lam ("My Cool Wife") Alan Tam ("Invincible Youth"), a legend of Chinese combat cinema Chen Kuantai (“Devil's Dozen from Shanghai”, “Code of Fortune”) - a real master of the Monkey style in kung fu, as well as other actors.
Like the other films in the anthology, the film "The Real Iron Monkey" appeared in online cinemas in 2019 (although it was filmed in 2014), but was released on physical media 14 August 2020 year.
British martial artist with Vietnamese roots Thien Hoang, despite his young age, already has a very good track record as a stuntman. He worked in such notable Hollywood projects as "Doctor Strange" (2016) and "Han Solo: Star Wars. Stories" (2018), and also fought with the star of the series "Warrior" - Andrew Koji in a short film "The Deep Fury of Pan" (2015)
Not long ago, Hoang created his own stunt team called Action C, which made it possible to realize Tien's solo project - a romantic action comedy "Battle of the Students" (Battle Of The Pupils). In the director's chair is Ba Cuong ("Bloody Letter")
There are not enough details about the plot. It is only known that the conflict will unfold between two schools of the national martial art of Vietnam “Vi Binh Dinh” over a girl with whom two students from both schools are in love.
Besides Thien Hoang, real martial arts masters took part in the film: Caitlin Fan Vo, Guy Ah Nguyen and others.
The film's fight choreography was choreographed by a Vietnamese martial artist. Peter Pham, from whom we are also waiting for the first solo project - "Misty Mountain".
"Battle of the Students" will be rented January 1 2021 years. It is a pity that Vietnamese films very rarely reach Russian audiences. We can only hope for a miracle and watch the trailer.
Indian-Vietnamese stuntman Peter Hein built a successful career in Bollywood and Indian film production in general, working on such large projects as duology "Baahubali" (2015, 2017), "The villain" (2018) "Security guard" (2019) and others.
Hein has long worked as a stuntman and action designer, but today he is preparing his directorial debut - a Vietnamese MMA drama "Penitent" (Penitent). It turns out that Hein’s painting is unfinished. Preparations for the film began back in 2016, and filming took place in both Vietnam and India.
The story will unfold around a former boxer who is forced to return to the ring, but as an MMA fighter in order to earn money for the treatment of his wife and daughter injured in a car accident.
Played the main role Binh Ming (“Hot Sand”), and he is accompanied by: Kha Ngan ("Fury"), Viet Huong (“Lost in Saigon”) and others.
The film's release is scheduled for January 15 2021 years. And again we hope that the film will appear in the Russian segment.
