Japanese screenwriter and director Yasuo Mikami, who became famous thanks to his samurai action film "Bushido" (2013) made a new film on the favorite theme of warriors with swords.
We are talking about a project with a simple name "Musashi" (Musashi). It is not difficult to guess that the film will focus on the legendary sword master and philosopher Miyamoto Musashi, namely his young years and one of the most famous episodes in the biography of the great swordsman - his fateful duel with the talented samurai Sasaki Kojiro.
For fans of Japanese cinema, the image of Miyamoto Musashi is firmly attached to the cult actor Toshiro Mifune, who embodied the image of a swordsman on the screen three times in films Hiroshi Anagaki (1954-1956).
The main role in the film went to Mikami Yoshihiko Hosode ("Ultraman X. The Movie"), and Kojiro played the samurai Ken Matsudaira ("Riot of the Samurai"). The rest of the caste are Kumiko Endo ("The Postman"), himself Yasuo Mikami and other actors.

Another film with the jidaigeki (samurai film) subgenre in today's selection is a major television project from Toei Video and producers Hideaki Tsukada и Takahito Omori, which are known for long-running tokusatsu franchises Kamen Rider и Super sentai.
The project is called "Gozen" (Gozen) and is a four-hour film divided into two parts. The first one with a subtitle "The Sword of Pure Romance" (The Sword of Pure Romance), and the second - "Sword of Madness" (Sword Frenzy). The director of the film is Hidenori Ishida (Kamen Rider franchise).
Nothing much is known about the plot. The synopsis contains only a description of the term “Gozen” - this is a game of feudal lords under the daimyo, in which there is no way to lose.
The film's ensemble cast consists of: Atsuhiro Inukai (Kamen Rider franchise), Kohei Takeda (The Ups and Downs franchise), Hiroshi Yazaki (“Dead Rising”) and other actors.
The first film will appear July 5, 2019, and the release of the second is scheduled for September.
We want to finish today’s selection of trailers with an action movie from South Korea called "Exuberant" (Fist And Furious) director and screenwriter Ha Won-joon ("Wild Dogs").
We are interested in the film primarily because of the martial artist, actor and action director Chan Doo-hong, for which "Exuberant" - became the first full-length film in the last 12 years. And Doo-hong hasn’t gotten the main role since the great action movie "City of Violence" (2006). Chan is already 52 years old, but he is obviously still in great shape.
Synopsis: North Korean defector Guk-hyung seeks a meeting with the brutal detective Ki-man, who lives with a piece of a knife in his head and is constantly ready for death. But Guk-hyung persuades the detective to take up arms again in order to take revenge on drug mafia boss Chong Tae-wa, who not only stabbed Ki-man in the head with a knife, but also killed his partner.
