While cinemas in most countries are closed due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all kinds of online platforms are doing well in terms of film releases. Unfortunately, large-budget projects rarely appear in the form of such distribution, but there are plenty of similar projects on our topic.
Let's start with the South Korean action comedy film "King of the Prison" (King of Prison) by debutant director Kana Tae-ho, who also wrote the screenplay for the film.
The story follows a humble guy, Man-hee, who ends up in jail for accidentally getting involved in a violent brawl. Within the walls of a cruel prison, Man-hee encounters Tae-soo, a dangerous prisoner who, however, has a just heart. That's why everyone here calls him the King of the Prison. But Tae-soo and Man-hee must unite to survive the impending coup in the dungeons of the prison.
The following took part in the film: Lee Seol-gu (“The good, the bad, the fucked up”), Yoo Sang-jae ("The Great Battle") Lee Si-hu (TV series “The King and I”) and others.
The film appeared in the online release 14 May 2020 years.
The next film is called "Special Crime Squad" (Crime Solving Special Squad) by an unknown director who hides under the abbreviation LAPD.
As usual, this is a story about a special rapid response squad, staffed entirely by young and arrogant professionals, for whom the completed task is most important. These insolent people pay no attention to anyone, including the police. But a new case of child prostitution, which would seem to be easy to resolve and put all those responsible behind bars, turns into a dangerous adventure that will force the heroes to rethink a lot.
The main roles went to young Korean actors: Cho Sung-gi ("Gang"), Oh A-lin (“Two rooms, two nights”), Go Tae-jin (“Gang”), as well as to a more seasoned actor Lee Han-sol ("Wind Warrior", "Phantom Sword", "The Good, the Bad and the Damn").
The premiere of the action film in online cinemas is scheduled for 28 May 2020 years.
Let's finish today's selection with a film from China, filmed specifically for showing on TV. The film is at least interesting due to the participation of a famous actor in it Andy She (“Cold War”, “Once Upon a Time in Shanghai”, “Abduction”).
We're talking about an action movie "My Cool Father" (My Ace Dad) by Hong Kong television director Liu Baoxian.
Synopsis: Andy He plays a special forces operative who has retired and is raising his daughter. But the former soldier is forced to take up arms again when his daughter is injected with a fake vaccine against the disease. The tangle of investigation reveals an entire underground organization, led by a former colleague of the protagonist in the military profession.
So far, of the familiar names in the film, only the action movie actress has appeared Jiang Luxia (“Operation in the Red Sea”).
For the current year Andy She quite a lot of announced projects, ranging from protracted long-term construction "Ten Ton Killer", ending with Jimmy Henderson's action movie "Guardian" and the recently announced wuxia epic "Invincible".
