Trailers for the films "Aha", "Powder Cocktail" and "GIJoe: Throw of Cobra. Snake Eyes"

We decided to start today's selection of trailers with a very intriguing project from Kazakhstan, which, at times, presents us with spectacular action films. Not long ago we celebrated victory "Tomiris" in nomination "Best Historical Film" within the framework of summing up the results of action films for 2020, and now we present to your attention an action movie "Yeah".

The film is the screenwriter's directorial debut. Farkhat Serkebaeva and looks suspiciously similar to the trilogy "John Wick". However, let’s make a reservation that we are glad to see as many high-quality action films about hired killers with personal tragedy as possible!

Synopsis: Bakhytzhan Abdulaev, nicknamed “Mad,” is a former USSR GRU officer. Having professional military training, during the collapse of the union he chose the criminal path. But the hero decides to give up on this matter, but the man’s life is turned upside down when his nephew becomes the victim of a terrible crime. Bakha is going to take revenge for a loved one. If the main character decides to take a desperate step, then the powerful clans will turn all their anger on him. He has to make the right choice, which can determine the future of many people...

The main role in the film was played by the actor Murat Bisenbin (“Racketeer”, “Tomiris”, “Batyrlar”). Among the familiar actors is the Russian TV series star Alexander Ustyugov (“Cop Warriors”, “Golden Horde”, “Vampires of the Middle Zone”).

The film should be released in its homeland 28 May 2021 years.

And now we move to Hollywood, as it seems ready to please action movie fans with a couple of interesting projects.

About the action movie "Gunpowder Cocktail" we already once mentioned. This project is the brainchild of an Israeli screenwriter and director Navota Papushado (“Rabid”, Very Bad Boys”), who began working in Hollywood in 2014, filming his anthology novel “ABC of Death 2".

Synopsis: being a killer is fun and easy. Especially for Eva, who inherited her talent for contract killings from her mother. But when a girl has to go against her own boss, she becomes the target of an entire army of thugs. Fortunately, mom and her former partners are ready to help treat the ill-wishers with their signature “powder cocktail.”

The main role went to the actress Karen Gillan (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” duology, “Ali, Ruli”), but she is accompanied by venerable and charismatic older friends in the profession: Michelle Yeoh (dulogy “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”), Lina Hidi (series “Game of Thrones”, “Dread”), Carla Gugino ("Gangster", "The Haunting of Hill House") and Angela Bassett (TV series "American Horror Story"), as well as young Freya Allan (The Witcher series) and Paul Giamatti (“The Illusionist,” “Lockdown”).

Film "Gunpowder Cocktail", which promises us a local world of hired killers similar to the world in "John Wick", will appear in Russian box office July 15, 2021.

Let’s finish the selection with another Hollywood project, which directly relates to the theme of our site. Yes, we will talk about a spin-off of the franchise G.I. Joe called "Snake Aes".

We are closely watched behind this film director Roberta Schwentke ("The Time Traveler's Wife", "RED", "Ghost Patrol") based on the screenplay Evan Spiliotopoulos, often working on Disney projects.

From the film we learn the backstory of one of the most popular ninjas in modern American pop culture - the silent Snake Eyes. But we will be shown the time when the main character spoke and just embarked on the path of a warrior in black, in which he was accompanied first by a friend, and in the future by his main enemy - the ninja Storm Shadow.

Played the main role in the film Henry Golding ("Crazy Rich Asians", "Gentlemen"), his sworn friend - Andrew Koji (TV series "Warrior"), and their mentor Hardmaster - Iko Uwais (dulogy “Raid”). Other roles: beauties Samara Weaving ("I'm Going to Search", "Guns of Akimbo"), Ursula Corbero ("Party", "Bloody Tree") and Haruka Abe (“47 Ronin”, Starfish”), as well as Takehiro Hira ("Harakiri 3D"), Peter Mensah (TV series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”) and other actors.

Since the upcoming action movie will be packed with action sequences, we have found quite a few familiar faces in the stunt camp. Two well-known specialists are responsible for the fight choreography: Kenji Tanigaki, who worked for many years with Donnie Yen и Brian Sloyer. Some of the stuntmen I knew were named Brian Ho, Guia DaSilva and former MMA fighter Darren E. Scott, who was an understudy Andrew Koji.

In Russia, a film with the title GIJoe: Rise of Cobra. Snake Aes" will appear 19 August 2021 year. In the meantime, there is a short trailer and video from the set of the blockbuster.

Powder Cocktail is cool in some ways, a little like “Shoot 'Em Up” with Clive Owen, but there are two problems: the dumbest dialogues of the strong and independent and the disgusting action with them. Where a girl is handing out lyules right and left to men, it’s impossible to resist facepalming, even if you try to keep in mind that these are all cinematic conventions of the horror-action genre.
In general, all these modern femme action films, with rare exceptions, make me feel like fake Christmas tree decorations.

"Yeah" was more reminiscent of Korean action films, like "Bittersweet Life", and the main character looks like Ken Watanabe.
