Trailer for the Indonesian action movie The Raid

A SWAT team arrives at an apartment building to capture its owner, a notorious drug lord named Tama. This building has never been attacked, it has never been touched by the police. Considered a “forbidden zone,” it has become a haven for murderers, bandits, rapists and thieves who seek refuge only here, in a place where no one will touch them.

Remaining silent, the SWAT team infiltrates the house at dawn, but an encounter with a bystander reveals their presence. News of their assault reaches Tama - the building is closed, all exits are blocked and the lights go out.

The commandos, stuck on the 6th floor, must fight their way through each floor and each room, not only in order to complete their mission, but also in order to survive.

The film won the Cadillac People's Choice Midnight Madness Award at the Toronto Film Festival (something like a local audience award).

I'll definitely watch it when it comes out! Indonesian cinema is growing, and it's nice to see)))

This is all great, of course, but when will it be released on DVD?

The premiere will take place in Jakarta somewhere around the New Year, but I don’t know about the DVD...

According to Joe Taslim, the film is a mixture of judo and silat.

I am surprised. Even I liked it. And the music is great, no need to rush it)))) It matches the frame and drive of the trailer and matches the atmosphere.
Let's see. If I get through the first 15-20 minutes, I’ll watch until the end.

Lord, why is there so much negativity not in the trailer? As for me, the music never spoiled the trailer, but rather fit in and emphasized the mood. And how can this be called UG, if already from the trailer it is clear that the film will have wonderful shootouts, not in the style of John Woo, of course, with cool camera work that combines a shaky camera with long camera shots? It seems to me that the film will be closest to "Smokin' Aces", only with less plot and more high-quality action.
I just can’t understand the comparison of film reviewers with Ong Bak, here it’s clearly gun action with elements of martial arts. Calling a film better than Ong Bak is simply stupid, because the genres are different.

By the way, the trailer caused such a stir that even the well-known Dmitry Puchkov (Goblin) published it on his website. :)

It would be great to see the negative aspects of the reviews as well.

By the way, yes. But I haven’t seen any negative aspects in the reviews yet. Everyone is pissing in boiling water :-D

It would be great to see the negative aspects of reviews as well. From the trailer we can conclude that the main emphasis here is on gunfights rather than combat. And, of course, the film will be very tough...

It’s strange, but I really liked the music. It fits perfectly with the video sequence, which makes your hair stand on end (in a good way).

I would like to hear the original track.

Exactly. I hope Mike's score doesn't ruin the movie like it ruined the trailer. It's better to watch the original version of the film. Only it will be like this in a year :(
PS And some people liked the trailer so much that they almost call it a role model. And in general, some kind of phenomenal hysteria has begun around the film - it’s infuriating. For some reason I have the feeling that the film is UG. I don’t know why, that’s all.

There have been so many reviews that it's dizzying. We should choose the most interesting one.

also of the same opinion... what does ong bak have to do with it...
    There's mostly gunfire here...
Well, of course there is a scoring hand-to-hand combat from Iko Yuvays.
in Merentau we have already seen something similar...

Mmm.. why there was an attack on Ong Bak from this side, I don’t know. The film will be cruel, as far as I understand.

Unfortunately, the trailer is completely spoiled by the musical accompaniment.

Let's say thank you to Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. I would like to hear the original track.
