Tony Jaa. Hollywood or Bollywood?

On November 30, Indian journalists managed to take Tony Jaa a short interview in which he admitted that he would gladly star in some Bollywood project.

You are known by various names - Tatchakorn Yirum, Tony Jaa and Jaa Panom...

The name Tony was given to me by Prachya Pinkaev (famous Thai film director, producer and screenwriter) so that it would be easier to remember for foreign audiences. In Thailand they know me by the name Jaa Panom.

Tell us about how you got from an ordinary village to cinema screens. How has your life changed?

As an actor, life has changed radically; I am now standing on the other side of the camera. However, my career started very early and with small roles.

Is it difficult to be a stuntman? After you became an actor, did you forget about their hard work?

Being a stuntman is always hard, it requires a lot of training. I would say it is very difficult, and young people are not paid very much. I, like no one else, know about the hard work of a stuntman. I hope that others will have the same opportunity that I once had.

You praise your idol Jackie Chan. Have you thought about working with him?

I would love to work with Jackie Chan, but it all depends on projects and schedules.

Have you ever been to India?

Not yet. It would be great to see this great country one day.

Have you watched Indian films? Would you agree to a Bollywood project?

Yes, I've seen a few films, but not very many. Of course, if I am given such an opportunity, I will gladly star in some Bollywood project.

    In the Indian press headlines:
"Global star Mithun Chakraborty will star opposite country boy Tony Jaa?"
"Zita and Gita 2. The long-awaited continuation of the cult bestseller! Now with Tony Jaa!" :-D
    God forbid... Hollywood is better.)
