Four decades after the release of the original film “Red Eagle” (The Red Eagle / Insee Thong) director Hanging Sasanatieng decided to “resurrect” the superhero in the red mask and make a remake of the classic film of the late 60s.
Star of the first film, popular Thai actor Miter Chaibancha, who starred in 1956 films between 1970 and 266, died tragically while filming the final scene. Initially, the episode with the helicopter flight was divided into two parts. In the first part Miter Chaibancha had to grab the bottom rung of the rope ladder and rise into the air to a small height. In the second part, when the helicopter rose higher, it had to be replaced by a backup. Unfortunately, the helicopter pilot gained altitude too quickly, the grip Chaibancha weakened, and he fell to his death, falling to the ground. This episode was filmed and remained in the theatrical version of the film. IN DVD versions, it was cut out and replaced with credits dedicated to the memory of the actor.
This time the role of the main character is played by a famous Thai actor Ananda Everingham (Queen Langasuka), who also suffered from an accident. Just before filming began, the actor got into a serious accident, crashing on a motorcycle. Everingham remained alive, but filming "Red Eagle" had to be postponed for a long period of time. One of the roles is played by a Dutch martial artist and stuntman Ron Smoorenburg ("Who am I?").
Plot summary:
The nuclear power plant, after the agreement was signed by corrupt and power-hungry politicians, is soon to be put into operation. Residents of the city are furious, they are against such an intention, but they can’t do anything about it. This is how a hero is born, tracking down criminals and corrupt officials, killing those who threaten the well-being of the city. He leaves behind a card with his name simply written on it: “Red Eagle”. However, the hunt for the hero begins when politicians send on the trail of their best defender, known by the nickname "Black demon".
The shooting of the film is almost completed, and after post-production, in the month of October “Red Eagle” should appear on cinema screens.
