Xu Haofeng, film screenwriter Wong Kar Wai “The Grandmasters”, decided to try his hand at directing and make his own martial arts film called "The Sword Identity".
Starring: Song Yang, Yun Chenghui, Zhao Yuanyuan and others.
Plot:
Once upon a time, in the city of Guangcheng in southern China, there lived four families - faithful guardians of martial arts. Anyone who wanted to create their own school or a new style of kung fu had to fight their way through the family gates.
Two swordsmen come to town to pass a test and open their school, but their strange new weapons are mistaken for Japanese swords, which are banned by purist Chinese swordsmen because they are a type of foreign weapon. Masters of martial arts schools accused the strangers of being Japanese pirates.
While avoiding arrest, the swordsmen must prove the value of swordsmanship by defeating masters and a “living legend” - an exile returned from the mountains.

Is it just me or is the film actually starring the famous “film swordsman” Yu Sing-Wei (many should be familiar with the fight scene with Jet Li and Yu Hai in the film “Shaolin Temple 3”, where he fenced with a long sword)?!
