Teddy Chan to direct action film Flying Guillotines

Hong Kong-China Production Group "We Pictures" gave the go-ahead to create a historical martial arts film called “Flying Guillotines” (The Flying Guillotines). This action movie will be the next movie Teddy Chan after the recent blockbuster "Bodyguards and Assassins".

Budget “Flying guillotines”, with fight choreography from Yuen Bing (Yuen Bing), will be 15 million dollars. Filming is due to begin in April 2011, with a premiere planned for the end of the year or early next year. A sister company will be responsible for international sales "We Distribution".

The main roles will be played by a Taiwanese Ethan Ruan (Ethan Ruan) and Chinese Huang Xiaomin (Huang Xiaoming).

The story follows a group of street toughs who are trained to become the Emperor's hit team. Caught in an ambush by another rival group, they are turned from hunters to hunted targets. "We Pictures" describes a gang of killers as “the first special forces team in history”.

To finance “Flying Guillotines” will Peter Chan, who is currently engaged in post-production of the film “Wu Xia” с Donnie Yen и Takeshi Kaneshiro.
