Quarantine... Self-isolation... There is almost no news, since all active production is frozen... But still, we have something to tell you.
Iconic figures of action cinema Mark Dacascos (“Drive”, “Brotherhood of the Wolf”, “The Crying Killer”) and Michael Jai White (“Undisputed 2”, “Tyson”, “Rise of the Falcon”) will take part in the action movie called Assault On VA-33 (“Assault in Virginia-33”?) directed by Christopher Ray, known for his “penny blockbusters” like "Death of the Titans" (2010) "Shark Week" (2012) "Mercenaries" (2014) and "Kane's Circus" (2017)
The hero of the film will be a combat veteran with post-traumatic syndrome named Jason, who decides to pick up his wife from the hospital where she works as a doctor. However, after the main character's wife is called for an urgent consultation with high-ranking military officials who arrived at the hospital, the building is seized by terrorists. Jason must be the last line of defense to save his wife, the general, the patients and the hospital staff.
The main role in the film will be played by Sean Patrick Flanery ("The Boondock Saints", "Suicide Carols"). In addition to Dacascos and White, the film stars Abigail Hawk (TV series "Blue Bloods") Weston Cage Coppola ("Baron of Arms") and former wrestler Rob Van Dam ("Blood Moon", "Sniper: Special Forces").
Like many other projects, Assault On VA-33 stopped filming during quarantine. It remains to add that Mark Dacascos и Michael Jai White never crossed paths in joint films.
Speaking of projects. At the moment, 56-year-old Dacascos is assigned to a noir thriller "One Night in Bangkok" directed by Vicha Kaosayanada. And 52-year-old Michael has a parody comedy to his credit "Johnny Black Outlaw", MMA drama "Cage Fighter" and action movie "Welcome to Sudden Death".
Well, we just have to keep our finger on the pulse.
In China, a star-studded wuxia film called "Invincible" (Invincible). At the director's helm is Tang Qiao (TV series “The Legend of the Fighter”) and Alan Lan ("Flying Dragon, Leaping Tiger").
Nothing is known about the budget and plot yet, but the creators of the future film have announced the list of actors involved in the project. And he looks quite intriguing.
The main roles should be shared among themselves Simon Yam ("Bullet in the Head", "Ip Man"), Andy He ("New Police Story", "Abduction") and Colin Chow, aka Ngai Sing (“The Forbidden Kingdom”, “The Bodyguard from Peking”). The rest of the caste includes: Eric Tsang ("The Accidental Spy") Wise Lee ("Bright future"), Timmy Hungg (“New Police Story”) and a legend of Chinese combat cinema Bruce Leung (“Showdown in the style of kung fu”).
Another legend is responsible for hand-to-hand choreography - Sammo Hung.
When will filming start? "Invincible" - unknown. But then a teaser poster appeared. We can only wait for news.
Мы already told about an ambitious project by an Indonesian director Raniet S. Marwa called "Blood Tide" (Blood Rush). He and his friend, screenwriter and stuntman Nick Khan decided to gather two stars in their action movie "Raids" и "Bullets in the Head".
Well, it seems that the project will take place after all. The fact is that the director became interested in the film Timo Tiajanto (“The Night Follows Us”), who became a producer and consultant for the future action film Marv.
In addition, the cast of the film has grown noticeably. The main role is still assigned to the silat master and actor Zaku Lee (“Raid 2”, “Night will come for us”). Together with him in the ensemble were involved Sunny Pan ("Raid: Bullet in the Head"), Yayan Ruhian (“John Wick 3”) and himself Nick Khan ("Madness").
Now sit down comfortably, because... we will introduce you to the addition of the cast: Master of Silat Chechep Arif Rahman ("Raid 2"), big guy Nathan Jones ("Troy"), Balinese action actor Oka Antara ("Foxtrot Six"), Malaysian stuntman and actor Khairul Azril ("Pascal: The Film"), Italian-American actor Massi Furlan ("Bad Boys for Life"), Singaporean female stunt performer and actress Grace Teo (TV series "Justice Liu") and horror actor Nicholas Vince (Hellraiser franchise).
The future film will focus on a certain Max, who is mired in crime and violence after his wife and child died. But Max wants to take the path of correction. Just to return to a quiet life, the hero will have to overcome his inner demons and those who do not want Max to retire.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming was postponed until August-September 2020. Will come out "Blood Tide" unlikely earlier than mid-2021.
