Scott Adkins in Altar Rock and Donnie Yen in Chasing the Dragon

Action movie star Scott Adkins joined the cast of the new film Andrzej Bartkowiak (“Romeo Must Die”, “From Cradle to Grave”).

The upcoming project is called Altar Rock and is described by the creators as a kind of “romantic thriller of the millennium”, the script for which was written under the influence of the real events of 2013, when a terrorist attack occurred at the Boston Marathon.

According to the news agency Deadline, the following actors will star in Bartkowiak’s upcoming film: India Eisley ("Curse of Sleeping Beauty") Sydney Park (TV series "One Crazy Cruise") KJ Apa ("Dog life"), Patrick M. Walsh (TV series "Banshee") and others.

Nothing is yet known about Adkins' character, and the general synopsis of the film, which is scheduled for release in 2017, has not yet been disclosed.

Andrzej Bartkowiak is planning to release an action movie with Mark Dacascos and Alexander Nevsky before the end of the year "Maximum Impact", but a release date has not yet been announced.

Adkins was literally recently appreciated by fans of combat films in the film "Hard Target 2". In addition, Scott is expected to appear in two more films in 2016: the action film by James Nunn Eliminators and in a blockbuster from Marvel Studios "Doctor Strange", where Adkins played one of the henchmen of the main villain. And in the first ten days of 2017, the long-awaited "Indisputable 4".

Another hand-to-hand action star Donnie Yen took on a project called "Chasing the Dragon" (Chasing the Dragon). The film will be a crime thriller and a remake of the 1991 Hong Kong film. "To be first".

Donnie Yen will portray on the screen the image of Lame Ho, a real-life crime boss in Hong Kong in the middle of the last century.

The producer of “Chasing the Dragon” is a well-known Chinese filmmaker Wong Jing (“From Vegas to Macau 1-3”), and the director’s chair will be occupied by no less venerable Andrew Lau (“Double Castling”, “Lords of the Elements”). Will be responsible for camera work Jason Kwan (“Cold War”). Donnie Yen is tipped to join the acting duet Andy Lau (“The Old Bodyguard”), with whom they are still negotiating.

Ho played Lame in the original 1991 film Ray Louis, who shared screen time with actors such as Cecilia Yip, Waze Lee, Kenneth Tsang, Lo Lieu and others.

It remains to add that an attempt to film a remake of the film “Be First” was made by Wong Jing back in 2014. Then the leading roles should have gone to Nick Cheung и Tony Leung Ka-Fai, but it didn’t work out.

Whether it will grow together this time, time will tell. However, it is already known that the film should begin filming this coming September, thus pushing back the production process other Donnie Yen projects.

The first photo has emerged from the set of Chasing the Dragon, showing Donnie Yen in full makeup standing next to Andy Lau, who plays the main villain in the film.
