Sylvester Stallone injured his neck in a fight

The Hollywood actor spoke about how he injured his neck while filming fight scenes from his new film “The Expendables” (Consumable / Consumables / Unperturbed / Defectors / Suicide bombers).

The 63-year-old actor said his fight scene with wrestling star Stone Cold Steve Austin was so intense that he needed surgery after the injury.

In a conversation with men's magazine For Him (For Him Magazine, FHM) he admitted: “I haven’t told anyone this yet, but I had to have very serious surgery.”.

According to the actor, a metal plate is now inserted into his neck, replacing one of the spinal discs.

“Just imagine seven big guys, one tougher than the other, fighting among themselves.”, - he said. "I'm not lying - even our stuntmen begged for mercy".

The film about a team of mercenaries trying to overthrow the dictator of one of the Latin American countries, in addition to Stallone himself, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke and British actor Jason Statham. One of the female roles was played by actress Brittany Murphy, who died last month of a heart attack.

The film “The Expendables,” directed and written by Sylvester Stallone himself, will be released in August 2010.

But this isn't the first time an actor has been seriously injured on set.

According to the actor, during the filming of Rocky 4, he was almost crippled by Dolph Lundgren.

I asked him to knock me down while the cameras were rolling around us. At the right moment, he hit me so hard on the top of my head that I felt my spine compress, and then he hit me with a powerful uppercut.

That evening I felt a pressing pain in my chest and heart and was taken by medical helicopter to the nearest intensive care unit.

I was told that Dolph crushed my heart with his ribs and chest. If the pressure on my heart had continued, I would have simply died. After that, I went up to him and said: “Dolph, bro, it’s just a movie.”
