They work closely with the actors at the training sites.

Let us remind you that we are talking about the filming of the sequel to the cult cyberpunk trilogy. learned at the end of last year. The actors returned to their roles of Neo and Trinity Keanu Reeves (John Wick trilogy) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“Memento”, series “Jessica Jones”). In fact, Chad Stahelski also returned to the team, since he served as hand-to-hand scene coordinator since the second film of the original trilogy, and in the first film in 1999 he doubled for Keanu Reeves. Worked as a stuntman on the set of sequels "Matrices" and David Leitch.

Here's what Chad wrote about it:

They [the Wachowski sisters] asked us to help with the choreography and physical training of the guys. I help out on a few episodes, and I think Dave helps out on a few episodes, too. Lana returned to the project with great love to reunite our pseudo-family, so it was fun to work with. It was nice to meet members of the old film crew again. We finished filming in San Francisco before the pandemic hit.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but the ensemble cast has already been revealed. In addition to Reeves and Moss, Niobe will return to her role Jada Pinkett Smith ("Partner in crime"). At the very least, if Stahelski and Leitch work on the choreography, we will definitely meet familiar names in the camp of stuntmen and extras.

The film's premiere is planned for the first half of 2021, despite the fact that filming in Berlin stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, information has leaked online that the actors and crew are returning to work on July 21st.

I caught myself thinking that there was something wrong with the industry, or perhaps the genre. Interesting projects, but why is there not one new person in the cast, but only “pence”, even if so well-deserved. Moreover, the Asian market has always been rich in young martial arts arrivals, and where are they all? Max Zhang and Philip Ng, and even then somewhere in the margins. And again Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan, etc. With all due respect to these legendary personalities. It's the same in Western cinema. Since Van Damme, only Scott Adkins has been born.

      Dmitriy,

A good topic for discussion. Indeed, for some reason there is no interest among studios and producers in new blood in this genre. Perhaps he is also missing from the audience, who still do not recognize anyone other than Jackie Chan, Scott Adkins and Donnie Yen. And if it’s clear with Max Zhang (he’s a bad actor and films starring him fail), then Philip Ng, Andy On, Jiang Luxia and the rest could count on interesting projects. But no. Music idols are cast as the lead roles and are sure to make a big box office. Jackie Chan himself has been guilty of this for a long time.

In Western cinema, it seems, everything is even simpler - the genre is in decline and no one needs new stars of hand-to-hand action. Therefore, they scatter into other professions: stuntmen, doubles, directors, motion capture workers for games, and so on.

There are plenty of young talented guys. But there is not enough attention and interest in them.
