Aikido master and action star, Steven Seagal, returns with his new film, which begins production this week.
In CODE OF HONOR, Seagal, as a special forces colonel, returns home from the Middle East on vacation. However, he quickly realizes that his hometown is being torn apart by brutal murderers and drug dealers (narco-terrorists).
After some deliberation, he decides to enter the shadow world and do what he does best. Almost no one can stop him, but an old teammate tries to stop his former officer and commander.
Starring Craig Sheffer and Helena Mattson, directed by Michael Winnick, produced by Premiere Entertainment Group.
The Code of Honor is due out at the end of 2015.
The news was sent by Maxim Kovalishen.
In the 90s, Seagal was on top, primarily because of the contrast. Aikido was new, his hero looked presentable on the screen + the successful aesthetics of the films: the Italian mafia, dirty gangster neighborhoods, Jamaican shamans and drug dealers. And the films were not bad. Quite so.
Then he went to Die Hard, and then to Insanity. The wider he became at the waist, the moreоHe was turning into a greater parody of himself. Now for me Seagal is practically a meme, like Chaka, such a common word. The Silaga meme symbolizes stupid invincibility, the lack of self-irony and humor in an action movie, the hyper-seriousness and arrogance of the image, monotony and countless tedious destruction of everything. You will never empathize with his hero.
Ravenside,
Here's the topic:
Another passable action movie......and the article seems from the outside as if it will be filmed by Martin Scorsese or Nolan)
JOHNSON,
Did he have others? Personally, the only film that stood out to me was the one in which he tried to swear in Russian; the rest I watched, as if they were all carbon copies, were done in a day. Although, the guy himself seems to be very cool.
barsug,
Do you have this opinion about all his films or only those from the 00s?
JOHNSON,
Honestly, I can't name a movie with Seagal that I like. Maybe there was one, but I forgot... although this is also an indicator.
barsug,
Well, if you have time, I advise you to take a look For Justice (1991)
Preferably in the Goblin translation.
